Here is the basics on the trade:

In mid October, I agreed to a multi-pin trade with someone via PinPics. I have never had any previous experiences with this person, but they had more references than I did, and they were current. I am in the US, and the person is in France. I agreed to a 4 to 3 pin trade, with me trading 4 different LE250s for 3 LE100s. They shipped theirs out on 10/18 (according to the e-mail) and mine was sent a couple of days later as I was waiting on one of the pins from someone else.

I sent mine out via US Priority Flat Rate Small Box, which had tracking and insurance. It arrived to the other party Nov 2nd. I have been asking for a while now for any form of package ID so we might try to track their package to me. They are prompt in replying, but every time it is "We shipped it as a gift", "There is no customs number", "Shipping to the US can take up to 50 days", etc.

I am at a loss to explain why based on the value of their pins, why they did not ship with some form of insurance or tracking?!?

We are now coming up on 30 days since they shipped it, and I am wondering should I be concerned? I did a trade here on DPF that was mailed from Ireland on 10/28, and I got those pins last week, so I have to think a package from France shipped ten days earlier should have been here by now?

I trade with several people in France often, so feel free to PM me if you'd like to talk more specifically. On a side note, I saw your PM for a trade. Sorry I haven't had a chance to respond, but I'm back online again.

I have worked with a few people from France on numerous trades, but all of them have been members here. And while the packages sometimes take a while, at most it has been 3 weeks time, usually 2 weeks.

It took me three months to get a package from France once. I asked my mailman and he said that wasn't unusual. But I agree that a package with valuable pins should be sent with insurance and tracking. Can you PM me the name so I don't make the same mistake of trading with them?

Hi, I once traded with someone from France. I received the persons in about 3 weeks as for the pins I sent them... We were emailing back and forth for probably 2 months and they didnt think I ever sent the pins when I did. After a little more than 2 months I got the package back I sent him. I ended up taking pics of everything and sending them to him so he knew I did send it and of course I ended up with another 30.00 in shipping fees there because it was such a HEAVY package.

In all, it could take a very long time possible 3 months. Just have faith :) I am sure you will get them.

I have traded many, many times with people in France, as well as at least a dozen other countries. Sometimes a pin arrives in three (yes, I said three) days. Sometimes it takes four to six weeks. Also, you can't compare service to one country v. another, or even to the same country at two different times.

If they have a solid list of references on Dizpins, I would not worry yet.

I wouldn't worry just yet as I have had some trades and purchases take a long time to get to me from overseas and others have came superfast. but all have arrived eventually <3 <3 <3 Hope this helps settle your nerves some :)

We have had packages materialize after 45-60 days. Be patient and in constant communication with the other party. Ask them for a deadline, that if your pins are NOT received will they agree to return the others.

the posters here are correct it is variable especially if the package is heavy bear in mind that packages (certainly in the Uk) and the US are often put aside for xray after the incident with ther ups package and this does hold them up. However I would say in the future that if you want them to insure and mail it does need to be discussed beforehand. If it was ptns for instance I would insure if they were recent pins with a $40 value however if they were the older ones I would if you see what I mean. I insure big packages big we are talking about something worth over $100 but not otherwise and would tell the other person I was going to as its signed for
Hope this helps I think frankly it a post office issue not them I trade with all countries all the time and it can be variable. I am also aware (sorry) that US pot offices are often the problem

UK seems to take a while to get to me (usually 2-3 weeks) but my pins to the UK seem to arrive in a week or so.

Hi there, I think there is a delay with packages arriving at destinations atm. I am expecting packages from Japan and the USA, they were all shipped around similar time to you, and I havent received anything yet. Hang on in there, I'm sure it is on its way :)

It has been 10 days since I started the thread, and no sign of the package, but in the mean time, I have gotten a package from Norway and Japan, both shipped around the 10-13th of Nov.

Should I now be more concerned? They have offered to send back my pins or send new pins (thou different), but the same worry about shipping is still there. Plus 2 of the 3 pins I was getting were DA 100s and not easily replaced or exchanged for.
