Okay so I know that the recent Frankenweenie event happened and wristbands were distributed. My question is, are wristbands always given out at the soda fountain when there isn't a pin event? I'm thinking of going to the october 26th release and just want to know if I can show up at 9 without a wristband.

Lately, the releases have been crazy so they have wristbands. But you can show up and be in line after the wristband people and potentially get a pin.
 
It also depends on what the release is. For instance the Tinker bell release... No wrist bands. However folks were lining up morning of release at about 6am. If I remember right, the releases occuring in october were all more sught after types, so chances are they will be wrist banded. But Soda fountain facebook page will be updating regularly to let people know if it will be day before or morning of release.
