Hi all,

I basically just found out about the character state pins. As I love the US (I'm European) i've decided to try to collect them. I'm talking about these pins :

(ie. pp# 14960)

I know a lot of pins have scrappers / fakes. Is this the case for these pins ? or are there only the 'real' ones in circulation ?

Thank you !

I don't collect them (though there are a few assorted ones I want for other collections) so I can't say for sure. But I think that since they are pin-on-pin and an older set it's less likely that there are scrappers out there of them.

These came out when the cheap pins of choice were Sedesma pins, not the junk out of China. So odds of counterfeits is really, really low. The scrap from the factory...possible but the quality would probably be decent and the pins so mixed into regular collections that sorting it out would be pretty impossible. Just make sure the pin is cut out properly and the names are still intact and you should be good. Once upon a time they were sold at CM pin parties and clearanced out so they were on a lot of trade lists and so should be in liquidated collections.
