surprise pins

Hi all-

I have a question pertaining to surprise pins at the parks. Do they get announced ahead of time at all or is it just a chance encounter when you are at the park?

They're released out of the blue and we don't even know what the pin is until it's released

Thanks Nathan! I was afraid of that. They posted a teaser on the parks blog of a couple that are going to be released at WDW this year and I so want one! I usually go up about once a month so I guess I will have to keep my eyes peeled. Do you know if they are usually released in every park?

Normally each park has different surprise releases and they're released on Thursdays

Is there a WDW texting tree for when the Surprise pins make their appearances? I really want them, but I have to get the info to my Dad, and he lives 25 min away, so I'm not sure I'll be able to rely on waiting for a post to appear.

Well I wasn't thinking far in advance....but maybe a day or two would have been nice A texting tree sounds like a great idea. I am only about an hour or so away and could be up there fairly quickly if I knew they were out!!

As far as what's coming out I really really want the orange bird pin
