I have a random question. Not sure if anyone can answer it for me. I'm going to try to go to Disneyland on May 24th with the hopes of getting a few of the Tangled Piece of Disney movie pins. I was told that the Aladdin ones were sold out by noon the first day. Any suggestions on what time I should try to get down there to be able to get the pins and what store I should try first? Any help would be wonderful. Thank you so much!

No I don't think it was sold out by noon. My boyfriend was there around 5PM and said that there was some left. It sold out that day but not at noon.
Hope this helps.

Aladdin was NOT sold out by noon. I was able to check out scenes at DTD Pin Traders at around 3.00 pm (not the best scenes, granted, but I would imagine DTD and WOD tend to sell out first because park admission isn't required), but they still had them. I don't know about the rest of DLR, but if DTD had Aladdin POMH pins past 3.00 pm, I'm sure the in-park stores had them as well (and probably better scenes). I have no problem believing the pin sold out the same day of release (at least at DLR), but saying it sold out by noon is a drastic exaggeration and only will cause unnecessary panic for this month's release.

Thanks for the information. The person my sister talked to who worked at WOD said that they had been told that they were sold out by noon.

The park ittself opens at 9am. The parking structure opens around 7:30am or so. I know several people are already planning to be at Downtown Dis the night before. In order to do that, they have to park on the street and move their cars into downtown dis parking when it opens (don't remember what time)

Locations to buy the POMH. For aladdin: we saw them at the downtown dis stores (world of disney and pin traders) in DLR, at westward Ho, little green men, the emporium, and in toontown. Emporium and toontown had the shortest lines but tend to have a smaller selection. Westward Ho is the place to go. Theres a cast member there who is awesome and works all the big releases. He organizes the pins into bags by scene. So the line, although long, goes fast. And he doesnt put ALL the pins out at once, which means some nice scenes are pretty much always available.

Tangled is likely to be a bit crazy for purchasing. I would say get to the park well before opening and be ready to go into the park right when it opens. The only folks ahead of you that way will be magical morning and breakfast with the characture guests. Inside you will have more options for where to go to buy, as opposed to in DTD where there will only be 2 stores, and people with no AP's can line up as well.

At least thats what I am planning. :)

I didnt go into DCA, but I am pretty sure they will have it at a couple stores in there as well, such as the fly n buy? Anyone know where else POMH will be at DCA? If lots of people are planning to go, maybe we could all work together to spread the crazyness out to both parks to reduce lines.

My advice ... please please PLEASE don't do this. I can't stress how emphatically parking on the street overnight until you can gain access into the Downtown Disney parking is a BAD idea. First of all, what they are proposing is parking/camping out on public streets. If enough people join the line up, the line of cars will fill all of Magic Way, back up onto Disneyland Drive, and spill out onto Ball Road - and cause a safety hazard that will merit the Anaheim Police Department stepping in. How do I know this? Because it has HAPPENED BEFORE - with the DLR POH I. It started with the joint POH Alice in Wonderland/PTN Jack Skellington release and escalated to the mob release that was the POH Haunted Mansion and the proverbial last straw for Disney (they introduced online registration for wristbands two months later).

After getting caught up in the fiasco that was the POH Alice/PTN Jack release, I got a hotel room for the POH Haunted Mansion release - and I was so glad that I did. I heard that the Anaheim Police was patrolling the area surrounding DLR for the Haunted Mansion release, asking people to keep moving and not park their cars in wait for Downtown Disney to open. I don't know if they'll be patrolling this time, since there hasn't been an overhyped release in so long, but if a line of cars starts forming, don't think for a nanosecond that people won't hesitate to call the police to break it up (the Anaheim PD has dealt with this before).

And think about this: if the Anaheim Police has to come out to disperse pin traders waiting for a parking lot to open, do you think Disney isn't going to hear about it? And if Disney hears about it, how much longer do you think they'll continue to release these awesome pins for us? They simply might decide that they're white elephants; the profit they get is nice, but they aren't worth the hassle of having to deal with the police.

cant believe that actually happened. Ive heard stories of bad releases etc but that one has to be one of the or THE worst since the police got involved.

We all lined up our cars waiting for the Annual Passholder sale at the World of Disney store and noone freaked out and no police came.

Are there POMH pins for sale in DCA? I haven't really noticed, maybe I'll go look on the weekend and ask if they plan to get some over there. I don't have any POMH pins but the Tangled will trade so high that I might pick up a few just for trades. Going to DLRP next year and might snag one to try and trade for something really nice over there too.

For the Aladdin PODM pin I got there around 2pm that day and found a great scene with Jasmine and Rajah in the DTD pin shop :) Not sure that one can have that kind of luck with this release, because it's TANGLED!!! Here are all of the places I know that FOR SURE sell them:
DTD: Pin Trader's Shop, World of Disney
Disneyland Park: Little Green Men, Westward Ho, The pin shop in New Orlean's (i forgot the name lol), and the store in toon town (where they sell the hats)
DCA: Fly n' Buy
Hotels: Disneyland and Paradise Pier (don't go to Grand Californian they don't sell them)

Don't panic :) You'll get a couple of these awesome pins if you get there anytime around 8-9am. Don't let any of the parking/overnight stories scare you! :) hope that helps!!
