Just a little rant: I really want to collect Tangled/Rapunzel pins because I love the movie. I mean why else? But I can barely afford any of them! Practically all of the Tangled pins released to date are HOLY GRAILS (at least for me). They're pins!! Retail prices begin at around $10 more or less and then skyrocket as soon as they get into the hands of people whose sole purpose is to make profit. Collections take time, effort, and lots of money. I know I knowwww. It just sucks for a poor girl like me to want such pocket-emptying pins.
 
Its supply and demand.... nothing to be done until people forget how awesome the movie was and/or find something cooler to collect.

I "divorced" Tangled at some point due to prices and the inability to be a "completist."

Dont be discouraged... Its a champagne collection, I have a beer budget, so I collect Hunchback of notre dame. Same story different characters.
 
I agree with you! I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.

It's understandable :/ I haven't invested too much in Tangled yet so I'm on the fence.

Hunchback is my favorite movie next to Lion King (outside of the princess movies lol). I wish they had more Esmeralda pins.. She's awesome! I would love to check out your collection!

 
I have slowly been accumulating Tangled pins. I try to get them during release, and via trades.

What I'm trying to say is don't give up! My tangled collection is MUCH smaller than my Aladdin collection, but it's definitely something fun to collect! I say go for it! There's lots of competition, and yes, it does cost some money but if you're patient you may be able to get some of those holy grails
 
I have a couple Tangled pins. I have the ones I haven't been able to trade away yet. I've been trading my tangled collection for Ariel pins. While some of the Ariel pins are ridiculously priced, I can get most of the ones I want for a reasonable price (i.e. under 50 bucks).
 
I'm mostly the same way but I say just be patient and don't give up so early into the game. Frozen is coming out so depending on the success of that, it may take SOME of the heat/popularity off of Tangled. Maybe... :lol:
 
I feel the same - I have a few Tangled pins which were one's I was able to buy at time of release, but there's not a chance I'll get the others I'm after. I did splash out $100 on the DLRP Rapunzel but only because I had a bit of money at the time and I was tired of waiting to get it! LOL!
 
I love Tangled and am trying to collect the pins as well. As you all know, that is not an easy task. I just continue to send trade requests on PinPics. I am not willing to pay the prices on the 'bay anymore. Especially since I've seen so much de-valuing of pins over the years. Like others said, I'm just holding out for that next big thing, and then I can scoop up the Tangleds that I want.
 
Yeah, I think for now, my best bet is going to the releases. Maybe save up for some nice ones.

I'm sure you get really great trades with the Tangled pins. That really isn't bad compared to the $50+ for Rapunzel ones. I do collect Mulan! So she has a few that don't break the bank

 
Being patient is all I can do for now. HAHA! Unless I fall in love with Frozen too

Nice! I just got into pin trading so I had no idea that pins like that even existed besides the ones they sell at Disneyland. Haha I don't spend a little money on a few (as long as they're worth it) but I'm gonna have to wait. And I don't like waiting! Lol.

 
I would too but I don't have nice enough pins to trade for them :/ Prices on Ebay are RIDICULOUS!! Yeah I agree with everyone on that.. *sigh*

I would also love to collect Rapunzel pins but they're just so hard to get ahold of. Hopefully they'll come out with a few more in the not so distant future so that I have at least a fraction of a chance to get some.
 
Totally agree with you! Hopefully they come out with some that will blow the tops off the old ones :x:

I have most of the Tangled pins...but it takes a lot of effort (and money) to get them. I have a feeling that the last ones I need are just not going to happen. I don't see how some of them are the way they are. Opening Day is LE 1000 and selling for the same or more than some that are LE 200. I am not paying $200+ for a LE 1000. I would say don't give up! Its hard, but I find that because it is hard they are more rewarding and special.
 
I got all my Tangled pins when they were released. So they cost a fraction of what their prices are now.
I don't think I will ever have the Opening Day pins. And a snowball's chance in you know where at getting the Reveal/Conceal.
So don't let it get you down, most of us are in the same situation when it comes to those coveted pins.
