As some of you know, a few months ago, I posted on behalf of my mother to find Pins at a good deal for our Girl Scout Troop since they were going to Disneyland!

Thanks to everyone's generosity, we now have more than enough lanyards for each of the girls, at least three pins per girl!

So, I'm posting this written by my mother:

I would like to send out a very warm thank you to all our donators!
The girls were excited each time I’d open a package that had come in for us. I would open it up and the girls would inch about a whole two feet closer to me. The parents were amazed at the kindness that exists out there as well.
Some of our girls weren’t familiar with the activity of pin trading and it is so great that they will get their first start thanks to you. They will be making individual cards for all of you. We were blessed with enough of a variety for the girls to have girly ones and other themes. As girls scouts we have to learn to be of service and to make a positive difference. This year we are learning about budget and they are working with recyclable material. We are always getting them to collect clothes for less fortunate, make barrettes, color pictures for restaurants to donate to Children’s research foundations, making Mother’s day gifts, making 50 scarves for homeless etc…they do these thing but I don’t think they realize the impact their actions have (they are 23 -2[SUP]nd[/SUP] graders and 2- 3[SUP]rd[/SUP]graders who will do these things happily). Thank you for your example of generosity and teaching them how it feels to be a recipient. I don’t think they realized that until now. They love it lol!

So just a huge thanks DPF! The Girls will be at DLR 19th (it moved from the 26th) to pin trade and we hope to see some of you guys there <3

Thank you all so much!

I think I will be able to be at DLR on the 19th to trade with your troop. Any chance you have a schedule that would have a time window they would come? We have a kids book that is one for one and we can stock up on some princess, Minnie, and Tink pins for the girls. Maybe drop a line to the Westward Ho staff to do an impromptu "come out and trade" with them too.
