Hey everybody! I've been pretty out of the pin trading loop for quite a while…and it seems as though much has changed since I was last active on the pin forum.

Last I was here, PoDMs were pretty much the best of the best in terms of pins; but it seems like they've dropped in value.

So what do PoDMs mean to you, as well as everyone else, now? Is it possible that so many of the people who were attempting to collect the full series have succeeded so there isn't as much demand? According to eBay, the pins can still hold their own, but I don't know..it doesn't quite seem the same!

Also, what about Tangled? Has it been replaced with the newer Frozen pins, or is Rapunzel still on top?

Thanks for your input, I'm interested to know!

I love PODM but people are extremely picky when trading them and the prices aren't low either (at least, if the scene is good). I think that's why you don't see them a lot, and a lot of collectors just keep them. About Frozen, I don't know. I feel like some people just like Frozen because it's a hype.

PODMs - depends on the scene. Some collectors collect 1 from each movie; others collect 12 to 16 scenes from their personal favorite movies. "Grail" scenes can still get a high value, BUT you have to wait for a collector who wants that scene that wants to spend that much money on it. OR as most people do, you trade the Grail scene for other types of Grail pins. So, it really depends.

Right now, Frozen is hotter than Tangled. It's mainly HYPE as Frozen is the latest Princess-type movie (Tangled was the last before that in 2010), and princesses have been waiting 4 years since then for another movie to go gaga. It depends on who you talk to, and it's a matter of preference, but I think it's the hype. So, right now, there are fewer Frozen pins (approximately 26 pins) than there are Tangled pins, so demand versus supply is basically driving the prices up and up.

I think it depends on the movie for the PODM value. Some have gotten extremely difficult because they make their way into collections.

Ex:] Tangled
Many of the really low end scenes that were around $50 are now around $100 because those are some of the only ones people can get.
As for when the more HTF scenes come up, those go anywhere up from $150 I can imagine with some going for the big bucks.

Not sure about the other movies but tangled has gotten more valuable.

Frozen has kinda taken over. Tangled pins have gone down in price a lot. But I think many want to focus on Frozen so they abandon Tangled sometimes.

Thanks for all of your input! Yes, I agree that Frozen is very hyped up. Similar to the situation when Brave first came out. Even a lot of the open edition pins were hard to get because everyone wanted them, but now they're much easier to obtain.

I wasn't asking about my specific PoDMs…just about the pin in general. Just interested to know which pins are currently viewed most favorably. Excited to get back into pin trading. :)

I have a quick question about a value of a PODM.

What would you say is the value of a Steam Boat Willie PODM, on card with this scene

Gah, that's a gorgeous Lion King PoDM! I don't know if I have anything that could touch a trade offer at that price, though.
