To auction or not?

I think this is the best place for this thread as it's not an active auction...YET.

I have an extra one of these pins

I'm trying to decide what to do with it. It's pin 86297 with 20 traders and 221 wants. I'm thinking of putting it up for auction, but I'm not sure. Any opinions?

I think you should save it to trade towards a grail or a highly wanted pin. I have 1, traded a few, and I still want more

I've been trying, but that hasn't worked yet. I'm hoping that if I put it up for auction I might get one of my most wanted or something close to it. I put out a few requests today, so we'll see what I get back in the next few days. I think it will determine what I do.

Have you put it up in the "Trading" section of the boards yet? Maybe you'll get bites there?

I haven't tried that yet. Sometimes I can be so daft and forget of all the options on the Forum. LOL Thanks for the suggestion.

You're welcome. Only because with the auctions section, you run the risk of not getting what you want and giving up a nice pin.

That is easily my most wanted Stitch pin at the moment!!! I love that pin SOOOO much! How did you ever in a million years manage to get 2! Ugh! I wish I had something that is worth that pin. I would love to bid on that but I don't think I'd win. I think you should wait until I get something worth trading for that lol ;D Because I LOVE that pin!!!!!!

Just thought I'd do one more bump for this topic before closing the thread to get any final opinions. No luck yet with a trade, so I'm still working on that angle. We shall see!

Its trade/wants ratio is excellent. even though it is "open edition" being Tokyo, it is basically a limited release. Japan DL doesnt re-release a pin, so once it is off the shelves, it is GONE.

I dont know if you could get a "grail" from it, but it should trade like a nice LE for you. I would not auction it, I would trade forum the pin, and do a pinpics TR with it once a week for a while.

Thanks for the advice. I did hear the information about the pins in Japan almost being like a Limited Release pin, so that makes it much more attractive. While I'd love a grail, I'd love to get a HTF pin or use it in a larger trade to get a grail. I also have the Cars version of this pin, and I have an extra one of the Fantasia Stitch and Scrump too on the way. They are super cute pins and some of my favorite ones out there.
