I know exactly who this france trader is. I think it was probably a mistake, as this trader can be a little scattered and confused sometimes. Another friend of mine was getting documents the same time as I and there was a lot of overlap. Why it got sent to you is another question. Maybe she just accidently sent it to the wrong person. Replied to a past TA or something? The france trader (although quite a process to trade with) is a legit trader though. I don't think there is any funny business on that end. As for the other person...

Hello and I think Ithis has now hapened to me interestingly when you first posted I didnt ask for the name but thought I knew who it was!! I hae now been sent a paypal payment in a persons name from someone who isnt them paying for a pin and I have nothing to do with the transcation. I have emailed the person whos ent the payment. However could you pm me the french persons name please

What is sad for me was the lack of response from our mods. I have never heard back and IMO it was a serious concern.

Also this is a very odd situation. I have read all the comments. Don't think it has anything to do with references because it would have been mentioned in the first communication from either person that merryweather is dealing with. If the second person who said to look at the trades before they are sent to France wanted to know if they were good trades should have asked it that way. Also is the word document the same from both people? That is what I'm wondering about. Which I'm surprised no one else has asked about.

Did you do a virus scan on said document? Just I case there are no viruses that could steal more of your information? Please make sure after you read this message to do a virus scan on the document AND also your entire computer. Depending on the type of virus scan program you have it can take an hour or so to finish scanning your entire computer.
 
It is one person, not 2 actually. I will send you more info on this later.

I have never attempted to open the documents because I assumed that those e-mails came to me by mistake and deleted the e-mails w/o even looking at the documents.

After a brief PM exchange with Jaqui, it is obvious that the same person is the culprit for both of us. We figured who and how he& she got hold of our e-mail addresses, but we do not know why they are trying to use our e-mails to communicate with other people.

After all, when I receive the other (trader) party's response, I got suspicious and avoided their trade. So they can not win.
 
Selen, can you please PM the names of the two people. I have traded with people in France and want to be sure I'm not making a mistake.

You are so sweet No worries though.

I was on vacation when those e-mails came and I used my husband's work laptop actually. He works for a silicon valley company and their IT takes very strict care of their laptops. They get maintenance and updates weekly, so I am sure he is good.

My own laptop, on the other hand, has been experiencing problems for 2 months. They started even before those e-mails started coming. Hubby requested a system recovery disk from Sony and we wiped my own laptop clean last nite. But as I said, my laptop started crashing 2 months ago - I think I messed few registry entires by mistake

Rumsgone - I sent you a detailed explanation of DPF's own unsolved mystery episode. Margaret I will shoot you a PM soon too.
 
I got the PM from you. I hope that the mods will finally respond to you but they are horribly behind on everyone's messages and don't seem to want to answer anyone's problems. Took them awhile to even respond to me about an issue and the issue was already resolved.
 
Even if DPF mods respond, at best they can ban the culprit(s) from DPF. They have no power whatsoever to stop them from using our e-mail addresses

I had another request regarding my references from dizpins and sent them an e-mail long back - twice. E-mails sent to dizpins' help address bounce back.

I do not think pinpics is moderated anymore either, but I will talk to Figgy next time I see her.

Pin community is in chaos :rofl:
 
Perhaps this is a good reason why I never bought any pins from anyone. :/ Plus I don't have any money. I have like $5 in my bank account, don't have a job, and I gotta figure out some way to pay for classes and books.
 
This all sounds very scary. I hope there is a reasonable explanation for it all.

I have recently declined a few trades because they didnt feel right - I always check references before agreeing to trade - on one particular trade, the lady only had three references. I asked if she would be happy to post first, she replied three days later that she had loads of references as well as references under another email address she asked me to check. I was not happy to accept the references under the alternative email address, only the one she was messaging me from. When I checked the references again under her email address, the three references and turned into about thirty. Needless to say, I certainly wasnt going to trade. But what is now worrying is that other traders will check her references and think they are legit.

Idea: Could the reference centre incorporate the date the reference was left, so it would then be obvious if the references had all been fabricated?
 
I am getting to the point where I weill only trade on line with people I know which is a pity as I always supported newbies. My computer is more than clean it has so many firewalls on it I have lost count! I went into on lin trading in 2004 after strding face to face since 1999 I always knew I would lose somewhere along the line and in fact have only done so a couple of times so count myselrf lucky however it is getting more complicated

Judy PM sent. Sorry that I am very sluggish. I finally finished all of my new downlaods and updates to fix my comp, but now IE9 claims that forum web-sire was designed for older versions of explorer and keeps freezinfgon me due to compatibility issues

Please do not be discouraged by the acts of this one person. I have traded with tons of wonderful people from France and other parts of Europe. They all very excellent traders with prompt mailing and great & friendly communication.

We are talking about dizpins reference center and as far as I know the traders enter their own dates, so it can be easily fabricated. Ideally, the web-site should enter its own time & date stamp to avoid ths, but even then ... People can log in at different tmes over a period of time to fabricate reference, so there is no sure way IMO.

I always leave on the ref center the day I recieved the pin ..not the actual trade date.we were told that when"RALPH"had it to do it that way then and I have always done that
you cannot leave NEGS or comments either..I hate that too!!Selen if you need help LMK..I was told in the past I am a good detective!!LOL!
 
I know how you feel. That was the reason why I have stopped trading online. I don't remember the last time I even used PinPics.

 
I guess I missed out on this thread. Can someone PM me the names, as I have been dealing some French traders lately, but have not seen anything like what has been mentioned.
