Hi! Hoping someone on here has had some experience trading fantasy pins. I have an LE 50 fantasy pin, and wondering how you go about trading it? So many people get upset at what they think are unfair trade offers, and I never like to have that happen. But, even with the best intentions, it happens. So, how do you go about trading a low-number LE fantasy pin? What do you match it to? Is a low-LE number fantasy pin "equal" to an LE authentic or not? I know that it all depends on character, but I mean . . . supposing the character is fine for the trade offer and that someone does fantasy pins. How do you go from there? Would you offer an LE fantasy for an LE authentic? Or LR? Or only OE? Thanks for any thoughts! Elizabeth
It is made by Mr Smee designs. Baby Groot. Really quality feeling pin with nice detail! I'll get a photo posted later.
Good question! I’d be interested in hearing answers/opinions too. I don’t have any fantasy pins as when I was more into pin trading they weren’t allowed or accepted as much as they are now. I know my mom and I have a few fantasy pins in our own collections, but it’s because they are characters that we like. If I understand right, some collectors still do not prefer to have them in their collection, so maybe that’s why they aren’t always considered with the same trading value as an le Disney releases pin?
That's why I thought I would ask! I don't have much experience with them. However, I was offered one in a trade one time (I'm not against them, if they look like the character, just they are usually so pricey!) and they set the value really high for it, which surprised me! Well, with one to trade, I'm not sure how to go about doing it!
I think it depends on the sale/resale value honestly. I wish there was a pinpics for fantasy pins so you could also add trades/wants ratios into the mix. Some fantasy pins are sold originally for $50+.
