U.S. Shipping

From the US to Canada? No, although Isabel has had some luck (or people sending items to her have had luck) getting the post office to ship it as a large envelope, rather than a package.

The only time I got the PO to ship as a large envelope was when it was flat. Bubble envelope (or even a flat envelope with a bump in it from bubble wrap) got dinged as a package.

I have had a hard time trying to get them to ship as a large envelope as well. They say it has to be a certain thickness, but then if the envelope is not a consistent width all the way across, they mark it as a package. :|

Ahh - so THAT's why postage is so pricey for you guys ! We're super lucky here. The people at the post office put all mine through as envelopes / letters so it has never cost me more than 6€, and that was for a lanyard set plus a booster and a couple pins (or also once for a boxed pin).

I found out something weird the other day ... usually they'll charge me 6-10 $ from the US to Belgium, in a bubble envelope.

But a few weeks ago, I got just a regular envelope from the US, it had 2 pins in it, both pins seperatly wrapped in bubbles, and it was only 2,90 $

Maybe that's another way of shipping, and is cheaper everywhere?
(not from Belgium to anywhere else, I do both, in regular envelope & bubble envelope, and price is the same sadly)

It cost me between 9.00 -12.00 to ship overseas ,sometimes more and I usually try using a small mailer too,and it still is

Ive shipped a few bubble envelopes over seas and the max it has cost me was around $5
Then again my post office knows me pretty well and help to get me the cheapest shipping

Haha, yeah I was surprised when my package to you was up at $6! I think it's because it was sent as a package, not standard large envelope. I think if I didn't wrap the pin itself in bubble wrap it could have passed as a standard, but I would never want to, just in case something happened to it!!! I've gotten some pins wrapped in tissue and perhaps that method saves bulk in the envelope and lets it pass as standard. I'm sure the tissue wrapping is just as good for the pins as a second layer of bubbles.

I have fiddled with regular envelopes, trying to figure a cheaper way to ship out international. and i just dont trust the reg paper envelopes. Plus the layers of bubble wrap make it to bulky. they wont ship as an envelope for me. :( I like multiple layers around the pins, to protect the posts and it makes the pack to fat.

So i suck it up and pay the shipping for an LBE. At least i feel safe about the pins not getting torn out of the envelope or the posts getting bent.
