I've read on the forum that Disney does not allow cast members, or their guests, to buy and then resell WDI pins from Mickeys of Glendale.

Are cast members allowed to trade those pins?

I ask, because I received a very nice WDI LE 250 from a trade. The pin was released this year, so it's not that old. I'm wondering if this is a sanctioned practice. I would certainly like to get my hands on more of those pins!

I would love to hear all I can about these WDI pins.

I believe that's correct , I've heard CM's can get in serious trouble over it if they're caught , but I don't really get how Disney would find out unless someone reported them .
They're absolutely fine to trade them though so I'm assuming you're fine

You can join D23, the Disney Fan Club. Once or twice a year WDI opens their Burbank store on a Saturday morning to D23 Gold Members. There are also WDI popup stores at D23 events, especially in Orlando. Every odd year, there is the D23 Expo in Anaheim where WDI has a very popular popup store!

Guests of CMs can sell the pins. Anything that a non-CM does is not the responsibility of CMs unless it's on Disney property and is not illegal. So, if I trade a WDI pin and the person then goes and sells it, it's not my responsibility for that other person. Although it does make me less likely to trade with them in the future.

Not correct. If the guest of a CM who signed them in to shop at WDI re-sells a pin they purchase there, the CM who signed them in can be fired. It is absolutely the responsibility of the person who signs in the guest to inform the guest their pins may not be resold, only traded.

This is why WDI takes names of CMs and guests when they sell their pins. Resellers can be tracked back to the CMs who signed them in.

I can't find any information about that on the hub... Usually you sign in people for security sake. I've never been to MOG on the west coast, but I have taken people into the Florida site meets. But, if you've known other people to be in that situation, I can understand.

I've always been told that you are not responsible for things you didn't buy by my managers. But if it is a rule, Disney is not doing a good job of advertising it.
