WDW Pin Haul and SCOOP trades! IMG waaaay HEAVY
This was our first trip to WDW and like others have said the pin quality seems to be much better than what I have seen at DLR. It was so good in fact that either they are working very hard to keep crud off of their lanyards or the scrappers are getting really good....hoping for the former as I only have a couple questionable pins as I wont knowingly make trades for scrappers.
There were fewer CM's trading than what I have seen here in Cali but those that were trading had some pretty good pins for the most part and several had older pins that they said they brought to work to put on their lanyards. Here is what I traded for between 1-22 and 1-26 The Cinderella ring was a trade I made with Linz_Pinz in person and the last picture is what I traded for at the Grand Floridian before we left to the airport.
The BEST part of my pin trading experience was meeting SCOOP! We found out he wouldn't be in the park until Sunday so we made it a point to get there early to try and track him down. We were in luck and found him around 10:00 AM on Main Street after talking to a Lady Of Main Street Bea (sp) A true Southern Lady with a sassy and fully fabulous persona.
Scoop made a few quick trades with a couple of other people and one with my sister (newly addicted pin collector) He then made two trades with me and then asked me if I could come back around 1:00pm as he does more trading then. Our schedule had us at AK at that time so I said I couldn't make it :anxious: He asked me to meet him at the First Aide office in 5 minutes so we rushed over and patiently waited. When he showed up he gave my sister THE Scoop pin, made two more trades with me and then gave me THE Scoop pin!! This guy is the epitome of what all traders should strive to be and meeting him was close to the top of my must do list at WDW.
The pins I traded with Scoop are below. The Mardi Gras pin is a PP (he pointed that out) and the Flower Kermit is an AP(just lucked out I guess) The Fantasmic pin is just a rack pin but we saw the show for the first time the night before so I just liked the look of it. I was debating between the Mardi Gras pin and the Joy pin (my DD's name) but selfishly chose the Mardi Gras pin. After we parted ways he came back over and gave me the Joy pin and said "Take this one home to Joy" OMFG right? So FOUR trades with Scoop as well as the bonus Scoop just because he is so ridiculously fabulous.
And finally, the pins I bought for myself!
This was by far my best pin trading trip to date, I guess when you meet the pin trading Ambassador you have achieved an epic trading memory and believe me I will never forget it.
I will eventually get a trip report together but for now I need a vacation from my vacation. I have some pickups for members and I will try to make it a point to contact you guys this weekend and ship pins out on Monday.
