The pins they picture are pretty cute, actually. I know that Hard Rock has their own pins, so with Disney and Knott's (and others?), I wonder if this is going to continue spreading to other theme/amusement parks.

I wonder what made Knott's decide to start pin trading, after all this time, have they monitored Disney's (and other companies') experience from the business point of view? Not wishing them anything bad, but I sure hope they're aware that if it really takes off for them, they're most likely to have the same issues (scrappers, etc.) that everyone else has had.

Be interesting to see their progress.

Ooh, a Snoopy paw back. How adorable that sounds. Interesting that if it doesn't have a Snoopy paw back, it isn't tradeable (I'm sure they sell extras for those people who seem to lose their backs).

Hmm, anyone getting any? I wouldn't mind trading some of my Disney pins for the Peanuts gang!

lol, I just saw this on my facebook feed. From what was shown there, yeah, some of the pins do look cute but there weren't any Peanuts pins shown. I would totally want some Charlie Brown pins, definitely some of the other characters as well. I associate Charlie Brown with my Dad; for real, he doesn't swear, he says 'rats'. Who does that?

This could definitely rekindle my interest in the Knott's park. Last time I went was a few years ago and was kinda bored with what they had to offer; the rides all seem to be coasters now so I didn't do much but go to the shows and have one of those old fashioned portraits done of my partner and I. I hope the pin trading works out for Knott's.

Does anyone else notice that middle pin in line up of three that the OP posted? Geee, you think they are trying to make their own grape soda pin? LoL!

This could be interesting what they do, but I don't see myself collecting anything from Knotts. I only bought one pin from Knotts before and it was one for their Halloween Haunt (the only time I go to Knotts).

I think it's GREAT! Though nobody can ever really compete with Disney on pin trading, even Universal has trading pins now. I saw some yesterday trading at Frontierland, and they were cool. SHINY!

Interesting. If I lived in SoCal, I would be interested. I have a very small collection of vintage Knotts items. I have been interested in Disneyland history, and early Knotts ended up overlapping a bit.

FYI, for those more in the "know" about Disney stuff, Matt Oimet, who used to be president of Disneyland took over as CEO of Cedar Fair which owns Knott's Berry Farm, at the beginning of the year. He has expressed an interest to return Knotts more to its roots instead of being a teen coaster hangout. I hear there have been some small improvements already, and that he's calling on some of his former Disney connections to help make Knotts a more enticing place again. So if Knotts hasn't been your place for awhile, you might want to keep an ear out for changes.

As soon as my DLR/WDW premium passport is up in June 2013, I am seriously considering a Knott's passport - only $70 + parking costs. I enjoyed Knotts as a kid too!

That is hilarious! We used to get dragged there by my dad as kids, because of my grandfather was friends with Mr Knott. It would be cool if they brought it back to its roots. I still wouldn't go I'd feel like I was cheating on Mickey

Nooooo... I live a block away from Knotts... I cannot afford more pins...

That being said... it is only a block away... no need to drive... Maaaan...

my sister used to work at knotts, my dad lives less than 2 miles away, and I love coasters. But the gang elements and insane tween /teen scene keep me away. :( However, if people that don't live nearby want me to p/u pins for them, PM me, we can set up something. I am sure they will sell the pins inside shops on the front street outside the park.

Oh no... Not only am I a Disney fan but I am a huge Peanuts fan too! Not a fan of Knott's Berry Farm the park because all the rides are rollercoasters though.

my cuz that thinks i am crazy has got me 2 hooters pins and 1 from HR also. He thinks pins are silly and kind of gets them as a joke and to show he was thinking of us pins crazys..... LOL

It seems like they're going the Universal route where pin trading is more of a fun thing for guests to do while visiting as opposed to going after the more hardcore collector's market that Disney and Hard Rock go for.

While it is definately a gain for the Knotts Berry Farm park, it is a good illustration why Disney is having problems in the pin trading field. You can see it in the quality of the Unversal Studios pins and the start of trading at Knotts. Clearly the talented leaders, and artists who started and nurtured pin trading at Disney are finding work... just for the other parks.

Great, Now they're going to get Knott's pins infested in DLR. Cast members won't take the time to learn and notice if it's a Knott's pin when a little kid is trading with them. "Warning Warning, Danger Will Robinson!"

[h=3]Branded Pins[/h]Branded pins can only be acquired by trading with a Knott's Team Member. Branded pins are limited production and some branded pins will be part of collectable sets. All trading pins will feature the offical Knott's Pin Trading logo on the back. Our branded pins carry an additional identication, Snoopy's paw print on the front of the pin.

Wow - they are even stealing the Hidden Mickey idea - I think that is a bit of a rip off. I live pretty close to knotts and have been thinking its been a while since i have been there. But I do not think I will start their pin trading. I dont love the characters half as much. Plus while I dont think that going to another theme park is cheating, collecting knotts pins might feel like it lol . . .
