Do I was just wondering what you guys do when you receive a pin in the mail from a trade and it's post is broken off? I got not only 1 but 2 today and one was from a gentleman in France and I sent him an email about it but he just said he was still waiting for his, so idk if he didn't understand so idk what to do! And I'm super bummed because it was for the RAK and now I don't have anything to send and I was so excited to find that pin for them! Gah!

I'd tell the trader and ask what his opinion is. I mostly just say what's on my mind, like I'm disappointed or sth. You can easily glue broken posts though, with jewelry glue. Maybe sth you can try?

It is broken off cleanly or snapped part way down? In the past I have removed the posts from scrapper pins and super glued these on to damaged genuine pins when the posts were snapped. I have had to do this with one of my SB pins and it's as good as new You can get posts off with a small flat headed screwdriver and flat sided clippers. If the post has broken off cleanly then like Olaf said, it can be stuck back on with strong glue - just don't use too much so it won't squidge out the sides!

If you plan on keeping it now, repair doesn't seem bad for display. Nice tips above. I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable giving away a pin I knew was previously damaged, though, even if it was repaired well, it would eat away at my conscience. Hopefully you can come to some sort of an agreement with the trader in France after they've received theirs if you want compensation. They probably just want to make sure theirs is okay first.

Since the person I bought it from wasn't willing to do anything about it ... I made a refrigerator magnet out of one of mine :dunno:

I would get sad That's such a bummer you received it broken. Personally, I'm not a fan of pins with repaired posts. I would rather have one the way it originally was. I feel like it might devalue the pin a little.
