For me it is the PTDs, as there are many I would never afford to own I resist the urge to get any.

Tangled. Whilst it's my favourite of the animated classics and stars my favourite Disney character, I can't bring myself to attempt building a collection of Rapunzel pins. I thankfully managed to obtain the PTD so that will suffice. :) I've also given up on Frozen for this same reason, just seems that even the slightly less rare pins are more unobtainable just because they're Frozen.

For me it's the beloved tales I would really love to collect these pins but the prices are just to high for them it's either pins like this I could buy or a holiday to Wdw lol

Yes same for me with Beloved Tales, I see some of the cheaper ones coming up for sale and I think about it for a split second but no point as will never get the more desirable ones.

I'll second (or third) the above - Beloved Tales but I also will add Gomes. LOVE many of the Gomes pins but again......$$$$$$$$$$

Beloved Tales. Well. Specifically the ones I want are wretchedly expensive (Sleeping Beauty, Poca).

Among other things, I collect pins with surfboards on them. There are some LE 100 and 250 surfboard pins I may never own. There may never even be the opportunity to purchase/trade for them! One can only hope!

There are quite a few low LE framed/box sets that I want, but may never own.

Gomes Villain pins for me. BEAUTIFUL designs but just way to much $$$'s to justify getting them. BUT maybe some day....

Beloved Tales for me too. There are also some pins that fit my collections that I may own one day (*cough* low LE Up pins *cough*) but for now they just aren't on the radar, other than resting on my siggy because of cost.

I've accepted that I'll never own some older Mulan pins. Worrying about it would just stress me out. It's much more fun to just enjoy what I already have and look forward to future releases.

My Wreck-It Ralph collection became just Felix/Calhoun after seeing what some of those pins go for.

Figaro is the main one I never started due to cost (my cat is a tuxie).

I'd love to collect Gargoyles (the TV show, not the Hunchback characters), but those pins are pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to find.

I'd love to have these Oswald pins but they are like LE3 and whatnot!

And then there are these 2 which came in a frame with a cel. Gonna be hard to get.

And there are a couple of fantasy pins which I have no interest in. Only official pins for me! :tigger:

Agree with this 100%. If the "impossible" ones come around, I'd be thrilled, but if not then no worries! :)

I'm also fond of Figaro, so what I did was decide to just get the easily accessible OE rack pins and the like. I now have the following 4 pins and I think it's a nice little side collection! If I can add to it I'll be happy, but I don't feel any need to get older/expensive pins for this collection. :tigger:

Second the Beloved tales. And while I am an Alice collector I know that Dinah won't be a staple in my collection because of the crazy pricing on her pins. I would also like a Pascal collection, but because of Tangled prices, said no to it.

I would have about 15 side collections but volume also makes that cost prohibitive, even if they are cheaper pins. :)

I thought about collecting all the pins on the Scoop Jumbo board. Scratched that immediately as one is an LE 2 pin of Stitch(gushing gushers) that never went into production. It only surfaced on one of the cruise line auctions and doesn't have a pinpics #...

I started a Fantasia collection, but other than the pretty frequent Sorcerer Mickey and Chernabog pins that get made, I can't afford it. I see dozens of good pins sitting on Ebay for exorbitant prices (e.g.: $150 for a pin that 12 people on PinPics want... but it's rrrraaaaaaaaare) and I'm just priced right out.

I have most of the Club 33 old logo pins, missing 6 (I think). I'm giving up on finishing that out--both to rare and too high.

I have all of the Minnie's Moonlit Madness pins--except for 2016. Too hard to find anymore. Giving up on that.

I'll stick with my Boo pins and start selling off all the pins that are not in these (Club 33, MMM, Boo) groups.

The masterpiece pins are the ones I don't collect. There was a time when I thought I could, but then I found that every single one is at least $100 and there's like 18 of them. There's also the Disney Shopping Nouveau series, which is the same thing. The one that I'd love to have the most is the Maleficent one like the Gustav Klimt painting, because I love his textures, but it's shot up 3 fold in like 2 years.

Most of the older Auctions/ Shopping and DSF pins are fairly unattainable for me. As much as I would love the Ratatouille BT for example I can't spend $200 on it- plus, the wait for it to arrive in the UK would be torture for me!

I love the Rapunzel designer couple pin and the Rapunzel designer princess pin but I cannot see myself owning them unless I win the lottery or manage to trade a newer pin for them! I wonder how much they went for when they first came out- does anyone know?
