I was so excited to find one of my most wanted pins on the bay. I won the pin and it arrived today. It's little burrito from the three caballeros. (pin 37440) Well, the enamel is missing from inside one of his eyes. This was NOT stated in the listing and the picture used was the pinpics picture - not of the actual item. I haven't seen this pin around and I worry that if I return it I will never see it again. I am very sad about the defect in the pin and it makes my cry to look at it. So, here is my question. Should I keep the defective pin (and maybe ask for a partial refund?) or return the pin, get a full refund and pray that I see the little burrito again?

What should I do? :anxious:

I say, do you love the pin, will it make you happy or will the defect bother you too much. did you pay a lot for it? these are the questions I would ask myself. I am very picky but I wanted the haunted mansion stretching room diorama so bad I bought a broken one. I fixed it and am very pleased even though it was broken. the pins were nt damaged but for $400 in mint condition versus $45 I am very happy with it. a partial refund is a definite if you keep it. happy trades, kirk

Thanks Stacey.

Kirk, I asked myself those questions and as much as I love the pin, I think the defect will bother me too much. I love the pin but seeing burrito with what looks like pink eye just kinda ruins it. I paid a good amount for him - nowhere near what some grails go for, but still. I think I'll ask for a refund. There really isn't a way to fix it (I remember reading about your HM stretching diorama - very cool!).

Judy, you are so kind! My fear is that I won't see this pin come up again. After holding it and seeing how much I love it (defect aside) I really, really want this pin!

Well, here's what I did. I asked if the seller would do a partial refund as I found I couldn't put the pin back in the box without feeling sad. The seller offered a very generous partial refund and I kept the pin. I adore the pin and would never trade it away - especially with the defect. It was in pretty poor shape with the hole in his eye so I thought I'd try to fix it, knowing that if it didn't work then it couldn't be any worse looking than it was. I grabbed some white fingernail polish and gently filled in the hole where the white enamel should be and it actually looks 1000 times better than it did with the big gaping hole that made him look like he was suffering from severe conjunctivitis. He actually looks pretty good! If you know what you are looking for you can tell that his eyes are not exactly the same color but you have to look very close. Don't worry, this pin will never leave my possession, especially knowing that I had to be Doc McStuffins for him. I feel good about owning this pin now. He's little and broken, but still good. :) He's on my keeper list forever!

(I wish I would have taken a before and after picture ... oh well.)

Thank you for the support and the advice!
