So I know this MAY be difficult for some of you due to that fact that many of you have been collecting for years, but...

What was your first pin, the one that gave you the itch and thrust you face first into this amazing hobby???

Mine were not legit Disney pins, but still Jessica pins! It was a Grateful Dead/Jessica Rabbit pin! :) Also two of my tattoos, lol! When it showed up in my mailbox and I opened the package, I was instantly hooked!!!

So what was yours?

One of my firsts!
I can't remember the first exactly, but this was one of the first few!

Pin 532: Pooh & Pals Puzzle Piece Set (Winnie the Pooh)

Hollies first pin

Pin 19787: WDW - Soda Pop Series (Pluto Pop)

Karl's First Pin

pin78901th200
Pin 78901: DLR - Travel Promotional Pin - Goofy With Balloons
I had never even thought about pin trading when we booked our trip to Disneyland a few years back and this pin came as a "gift".

I traded it for
pin55523th72
Pin 55523: DLR - Mickey's Pin Festival of Dreams - Mystery Tin Set (Princess Minnie Only)
and have been hooked ever since!

How awesome! Ya, my real "first pin" was from when I was like 8! Didn't start collecting at that point though, pin was lost and I can't for the life of me even remember what it was now!!! Which makes me sad because my grandma got it for me and she just let us know that she basically won't be around next year by how she talks...although I am staying positive that not only will she be around in a year, but for MANY more to follow!!! :x:

Pin 11033: Flying Peter Pan
pin5022
Pin 5022: Tinker Bell with Sparkle Wings
I got both of these at the same time during my first trip to WDW. I got them at the little kiosk in the American Adventure Pavilion in EPCOT. I remember because my sister and brother-in-law needed a break so they went to sit in that shaded area with ice creams and I discovered pins. It's funny because I had been going around the worlds buying those little flag pins before finding these. I still have them and plan to keep them forever.

I got it before I got into pin trading. I loved that the mickey head was a rainbow!

edit:
I found an old picture of me wearing this pin:
pin1815

However, I'm not sure where the pin itself is. I probably don't have it anymore.

A lady at LGM was kind enough to trade me this for a $13 reel characters fantasia pin out of the case in August 2012. It was my first trade and will be on my lanyard for always.

Long long ago, in a disneyworld far far away... (literally, cuz I am in california)

in the year 1990 I went to WDW for a week.

I bought a Thumper pin.

It stayed in a jewelry box and never got removed or worn....

Until I was going through old boxes back in late 2009. I had just started pin trading, a friend had given me about 20 pins to start myself up. (I did some art/craft stuff for her, she paid in pins) I wasnt looking for the pin, I was just going through storage boxes. I found it.

And what did I do? I freaking traded it for a random OE tinker bell.

Whats that line Harmione says in one of the first couple harry potter movies? Oh thats right, "What. An. Idiot."

They dont make em like they used to and I will never be able to replace that little dude.

My first was [pinpics]34324[/pinpics]: Disney Auctions (P.I.N.S.) - Stitch Cake pin and card, and it wasn't even for me lol, it was for my husband's birthday XD!

And then after that pin I realized he would love the president one [pinpics]33054[/pinpics]: Disney Auctions (P.I.N.S.) - Stitch for President and this is the one that lead me to these forums :D.
The pin was not available and the person was really snotty to me in another post but that didnt deter me! Lots of nice people here and have been here ever since :D

the first real pin I remember getting my son is Pin 53165: WDW - Disney-Pixar's Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor Attraction - Opening 2007

He had a few before that but this is the one that leaves a lasting impression with me. My son was the original pin collector we would go to wdw all the time instead of buying him disney stuff I bought him a pin every visit. I got a few here and there. my husband started collecting three years ago.

Pin 1579: WDW - Artist Choice 2000 #4 (Mr. Toad & Cyril Proudbottom)

Don't like Mr Toad, but LOVE horses. It was my birthday in 2000, we were at Epcot and I caught the bug, right then and there...

My very first pin was of Donald Duck riding in an airplane. I'm not sure what it's name is, and I'm too lazy to find a pic of it on pinpics, lol. I actually still have it, although it's not in my current collection. My mom wanted to keep it since it was our first pin :).

Oh I remember them well.

#3559, 3560 and 3561. The pinpics decription says they were sold @ Disneyland and in England in the 90s, however, I bought all 3 of these at the Disney Store and it was 1990. Still have 'em today
