Whatever happened to the DS.com semi-annual pin sales?

DS.com use to have these sales about twice a year. It was a good opportunity to pick up holiday pins, dated pins, or stuff that just didn't move off of the site. Nowadays the pins listed sit there for months without any price changes. Any ideas?
 
Usually they have it towards the beginning ish/through out summer. Then the second time will be towards the end of the holiday/Christmas season. So you just missed the first one but the second one will come up soon Hence "twice upon a year" sale.

It used to be in February and August each year(I am fairly sure). I picked up a lot of traders and mystery sets during these sales.
 
Well, they stopped making pins (at least, in the weekly sense), so it kind of became pointless- nothing left over to sell off.

I miss the pins, but not money sink that it was...
 
Yeah Abyssinian is right. Without the large amount of pins, there is no reason to have sales anymore. They still discount pins from time to time, but nothing like they did back before 2011.
