Hey Disney friends! Thanksgiving is almost here which means family, food, and Rapunzel pins! I have a question for those that have done this before...what time should I be there? I heard as early as 3am and as late as 7am. I should also mention I don't have an AP so I will be buying from DTD. Thanks in advance
 
I have an Annual Pass so I plan on being at the park at opening and going to the shop first thing. I don't know how it will be at DTD. I've heard there will probably not be wristbands. Good luck to you!
 
Hmmmm, it's sounding like I may need to be there at 2am. Anybody else have any insight? It's much appreciated. How can I confirm if they will be handing out wristbands? On a side note, I would lovvve an annual pass! Just need to find some friends who love Disneyland as much as I do :sigh:
 

If you plan to go a lot, the AP is very much worth it. I know the disneypins.com site normally gives release details so I plan on checking there to see if they mention wristbands. You could probably call over to DTD later in the week too to see if they know too. From what I understand, they mostly do wristbands only for the Pieces of History pins.
 
DTD security is VERY strict with NOT allowing people on the property way early. I want to say that the earliest they will allow is one hour before they open. I could be wrong on that exact time, but I know in the past going to DTD EARLY in the morning was a big issue.
 
Don't they typically put out directions for the release? It's still a few days away. Maybe they will put something out soon.
 

I'm wonder the same thing. I am staying in Anaheim the night before because I am going to the JT concert at Honda Center. Figured since I'm up there might as well try for this pin. I was thinking of heading over at 6am since the park opens at 8am and early magic hour is at 7am. :dunno: I've done gone for a popular pin release before.

Also I am looking for a Disneyland buddy. I have an annual pass but am blacked out for Thanksgiving. I don't have enough Disney friends with annual passes. Message me if you want a line buddy
 
Thank you Boog, littleguy, Jaylee and katchik for all your responses Jay, I do hope they put some rules/directions up...it would be very useful! Katchik, I may take you up on your offer as of now i'm going to follow your lead and get there at 6am. If someone knows better please let us know. I'm driving over an hour and getting negative feedback from fam for doing this on a Holiday :| so I want to make sure I get what i'm going for.
 

Not actually true. for PoDM releases they let folks camp out behind rainforest cafe. However those were wristbanded events....

As to wristbanding this release. rumor is they will not. While it would be in their best interest to do so, i dont think it will happen.

DTD will have a line. MOST AP's are blacked out for in the park on Thanksgiving, so just about anyone without a Premium pass will be there. the lions share of this release will be at DTD. but I am figuring they will spread the rest out to several in park locations.
 
They did eventually start enforcing the no lining up early rule but that wasn't until the last PoDM release. The earliest you can officially be there is 5am I think.
 

I agree with you Kristin. Personally, I am going to make a quick trip over to DTD, late evening the night before and see what's going on as it applies to the release of this GEM.

I have to work thanksgiving morning so I will be unable to attend this release I want one for my collection so hopefully I'll be able to trade for one! Come see me, I'll be at either emporium or candy palace!
 

I could be wrong but I think mylittletyguy meant DTD at WDW ... not DL
