There is a famous doll scammer that has reemerged and is "buying" and "selling" pins. I will be using the pronoun It, since there's reports of several names being associated with them. It takes other people's pictures of items and uses it as its own to sell on Facebook. When that item is sold, It either uses your money to pay for an item on eBay or you unknowingly pay the eBay seller to send the item to It. You never get your item, or if you're the seller, you're out your money and item.

So, I guess the only solution would be to watermark everything that's high value, that's your's from now on.

If a buyer seems suspicious, like they want one day shipping, but delayed on payment until the last second. Or they want another person to pay for it. Don't do it.

And this is why, as much as people gripe about eBay, I feel slightly better having that extra layer of protection. Things can still go haywire, but Facebook is increasingly a cesspit of scamming. And what, you're gonna call Mark Zuckerberg for help in getting your item/money/sanity back? Woof.

eBay wouldn't have been much help in my sister's case a couple years back with this person, because their CSR said she could have him pay over Paypal. That's simply not true.

    Too many scammers!

Maybe there can be a section of the forum for it?

No, I get that. I meant it more as, I am hesitant to do much of anything on FB anymore, in terms of buying/selling/etc. I also have become leery when people post their "Show off your collections!" posts. Cuz either you're gonna send a team of robbers to my house, ha, or someone is going to misappropriate the images for their own gain elsewhere.

eBay is hardly infallible. I still feel bad for your sister. :hugs:

Thanks. At least she was able to intercept the package, she was down the $50ish she paid for overnight shipping though.
