ok, I was having the same problem,but it is not the site. It is your browser.
Once you sign in, if it still shows you as needing to log in, jyst push the refresh button, and you will be logged in.
Weird I know, but that is what worked for me.

Yes, this is a glitch we're still trying to root out. After clicking on the banner or on any forum, the page should change to show you as logged in. Let us know if this works. We apologize for the inconvenience!
Safari gives this behavior. IE and Firefox do not. At least in my experience.
If you are using IE, clear your cache (delete all cookies, history, etc.) and restart IE. That should eliminate many potential issues.
