Just set up an account as we are looking to get someone into pin trading and have offered up a small number of pins that we have managed to snag from our trips to Disney as well as a brief stint working.

It’s going to be more of a trade for fun affair getting characters as opposed to rarity etc.

We were just curious if any of this would be more welcoming to a serious collector or if any of it should be left out of a tiny paws who could for a better word be “fleeced”

I’m not hugely knowledgable within a community such as this and don’t want to come across naive or ignorant would just like to set a younglin up on the right foot.

One thing I did notice was a hidden mickey series Marie without her hidden mickey?

Any advice would be great and thanks in advance.

I’m lead to believe the Marie bottom right should have a small hidden mickey

I’ve just realised my pics are unlikely to work as they contain urls. I’ll ensure to lurk and post so that I can complete the 3 post probation.

I think it's 10 posts.

Also, to show pictures to DPF, please make sure to upload them to a free photosharing website, such as Flickr or IMGUR and then copy & paste the picture (not the URL) here.

These are the pins. The Marie closest to the bottom right is missing it’s hidden mickey

I can't say for sure without seeing them in person, but it's likely some of those are fake. Sadly, the park lanyards are filled with mostly fake pins that people have bought cheaply on ebay and then traded in the parks. However, as long as they have the Disney copyright on the back, the cast members are required to take them in trade regardless of their authenticity or not, so they should all be tradeable at the park.

Thanks for getting down to the nitty gritty.

From a collectors perspective how frowned upon is this? I don’t want to hand these to a new collector if they are going to ruffle feathers in DLP with true fans.

These would be common lanyard traders (whatever their authenticity) in U.S. parks. Not likely to be very desirable to other traders.

However if you’re asking about Paris (DLP) then my understanding is that Paris cast members can be fussier about trading pins and sometimes turn trades down simply by their own choice.

I’d just advise whoever you are giving the pins to that you simply say “not everyone will want to trade with you and that’s okay if they don’t - just say thank you and move on to the next trading opportunity”.

But really these are just the kind of pins one would trade onto cast member lanyards, not so much with other guests/collectors.

It is best if you use a white non-textured background. Also need to see the back of the pin as well as the front to ensure the validity of the pin.

I use the Tapatalk app for posting pictures here, it lets me pull straight from my phone's picture gallery, no need to save it to Pinterest first like I used to. :)
