Got a survey about the PTNs, Pin Events, and pins in general. If you have ever wanted Disney to listen to your voice: here's a chance.

Also, they have our number.

Yeah, I was going to post about this later. I found it very interesting how a lot of their questions were about the secondary market and how we buy our pins, considering that doesn't really have anything to do with the PTNs. I mean, a question about where we buy our pins I wouldn't have blinked at. But in addition to several of those types of questions, there was a lot of curiosity about whether or not we buy to sell, and whether or not we consider "future value" important in our consideration as to whether or not we buy pins.

I put that pretty low on my list of things. I think they're trying to be more aware of the current market. And how many collectors they attract to the event vs. sellers, vs. traders, ect. A lot of people just pick up their pins and go. It's interesting that they asked you to label yourself that way.

I basically stated that if it's for my collection, it doesn't matter future value. But if it's a trader, of course I'm going to want something that's going to go up in "value". Park pins aren't really that great for up-trading.

I thought this was a neat little survey and was glad they showed interest in the pin community! It's promising that they're trying to better understand us. I was really surprised to see our forum there as well. And the bizarre questions about where we get secondhand pins from were... something.

However I definitely gave them my two cents about the preview boards being vertical lol. Something with that many people waiting to see it has no business being vertical when being horizontal would actually keep the line moving, if only fractionally.

Hopefully they listen to everything!

Side note: interesting that pinpics isn’t listed given their affiliation with acme/hotart? You’d think they’d acknowledge them before us!

Horizontal might have helped a little, but the real slow down was everyone and their mother taking a photos of each and every pin. Bless those people like Merlin who just take segments of the boards. I watched this guy take a photo of each and every pin, check his phone for how good it was- he had lighting and everything going. And, you know, if there weren't others waiting to look, I would have no issue with it. But that line was almost a 30 minute line...JUST to look at new releases.

That's awesome that we are listed. Hopefully that will build further awareness of us.

I think because this question is about buying/selling and PinPics isn't really for that. If this was about trading, I would 100% expect PinPics in there.

I was glad to see they are reaching out to us. I told them the parks need lower edition size pins for collectors and traders. And larger pins like WDI or soda fountain.
Huh, you think? I've always liked that you could get rarer pins when you wanted them from DSF but higher LEs easily as well at the parks.

My pin collection says 'yes, please,' but my credit card says 'hard pass!'

Exactly! Actually, even only going back to ds.com...I miss the pins, but don't miss the massive bills and 3 AM stay up time!

I just wish they'd do quarterly releases or something- maybe holidays. Saves us the money and stress of weekly releases, but we still get nice, big pins occasionally.

This. Exactly. The weekly midnight ds.com would be welcome at this point, but they were nearly as expensive and just as exhausting as Disney Auctions. Although I suppose it was better to stay up one night a week than find a way (especially at those times) to be on the computer wearing out the F5 button twice a week for those (choose your own adjective) DA P.I.N.S. pins.

My only concern with a quarterly or maybe-holiday release is ... would we know when the release would be? Would they tell us in advance when a release would be or would it be a surprise?

Well, I don't know about DA (I missed that time period by, like, a literal week), but for ds.com, they didn't really tell us, either. I wonder if the "pin detectives" would still be able to help without the weekly schedule to help.

Did anyone ever break and tell us how they did it? There was always this debate about whether or not it was just people hunting through code, or if it was an employee leaking info.
