Disney Princess Designer Collection DOLL Release Discussion v2.0
Hi Robyn, did you ever follow up with a service rep about your order, or is it still kind of up in the air? Does the order even show up through their online tracking system? If not, it does not look good... :(

I've called FOUR times now.
My boyfriend emailed TWICE.
It's always the SAME thing 'your order is processing and has not been shipped yet- you'll receive an email when your dolls have shipped'

My Mulan took forever to reach me even after sending my tracking number . If you haven't got that be worried or at least call and have DS track with your confirmation .

I found this article interesting and take back what I said now in regards to Muli & Poci being considered princesses . I was thinking more on terms of the movies and the dolls are representing this :
Rapunzel will be officially welcomed as the 10th Disney Princess at an invitation-only star studded celebration at Kensington Palace, London on 2 October 2011. On this pink letter day, Rapunzel will join the Disney Princess royal court, which includes Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, Snow White and Tiana, along with VIPs, celebrities and little princesses from across the globe. Kensington Palace is the perfect location for this magical welcoming ceremony of Rapunzel as it has been home to many real life Princesses over the centuries

Thus the 10 princesses of the centuries ! Now thats cool ~!

Well I'm glad you've expanded your horizons!

This is terribly distressing news. I wonder what on Earth is going on at their distribution center. One would think that they would know by now if they have the item in stock or not. Again, I would pressure them into action, escalating up the heirarchy as necessary. I wonder if you could twist their arm into shipping a Designer Pochontas doll... Now wouldn't that be something! :p

Ok I JUST called and FINALLY got some help.
She said my Snow White was 'backordered' ...........what?
Does that mean I WONT be getting my girls???
Someone help D:
I'm officially declaring my dolls are MIA :p

Since the people who were nice enough to offer their Snows if my order fell through WOULD like to keep their doll for trading purposes- I am now asking if anyone who WILL sell their doll to please PM me. -Enough room for 5 pms.

Ok. Time for yet another SW doll story. Here is mine. I placed an online order at 12:59 PDT on the 19th. On Tuesday the dreaded "sorry" email came. I had paid with a PayPal debit card and the transaction through PayPal] says "pending" and has since 9-19. The order itself on Disney says shipped- NO. I have contacted, called and emailed 4 times about reversing my pending payment and GETTING MY $ BACK. Their answer is always "I will send an internal message to billing". One CR even sent me a $5.00 gift card! It is disappointing to be told I'm not getting the doll, but Disney does not have the right to keep my $ when they can't fulfill the order. When I emailed them today I sarcastically mentioned that I will take a Rapunzel doll instead. Right- like that would happen. Gross incompetance is the best way to describe all these messes.

To say that I'm bummed out is an understatement. I cannot imagine the problems that will develop when they sell all 5 dolls at once! Heaven help us! Disney better get lots more dolls to the B+M stores is all I can say - and hire security!

"Backordered" on hot LE items like this is not good. Chances are it will get canceled.

Off topic but relating to you inbox space - remember that your Sent Items and other folders count towards your mail limit. If you don't have time to go through your inbox you may want to dump your sent items.

Thank you for the lesson Erudolf :) I usually download and then delete my sent messages when it reaches 30....still doesn't help much :(
Really wish we could get more PM space.

On topic:

Called again to see what 'Backordered' was and the lady said that they haven't gotten to my order yet- it's not 'backordered' why do they all tell me different things? First they're all like 'they'll send an email' and then 'backordered' then 'my order hasn't been "gotten to" yet'???

 Thank You, Thank You Very Much !
So sorry you haven't received your dolls yet Moondance . I wonder if this is why I haven't heard fantom . We were trading Snow White for Mulan . If I don't hear soon, I may have to pay Evil Bay prices for her and Buy Poci, if I get lucky enough . These dolls are going to be a nightmare to get them all .

Mine is still listed as shipped on my order tracking page. Clearly they have no idea what they're doing with these dolls.

And I did try escalating up the chain, but all I've been offered was a $10 gift card. Which I have no idea why I accepted--I really have no interest in doing business with them again. Also, I'm aware this is the same amount given to people whose orders were cancelled within the company's 24hr time frame and weren't confirmed by three different cast members. I don't understand how two dolls that I was repeatedly told were reserved for me in the warehouse and that were even reported as shipped yesterday. :(

Meggles saying DS doesn't know what they are doing is an understatement . DS US could take a good lesson from DS UK . My friend ordered me Ariel & Mulan, had them in two days and 5 days later, I had them . Here in the US , its been a week and a half, and over half of you don't have SW yet .

Incompetent is the biggest understatement ever. In response to the email a CM suggested I send outlining my problems with the order, I received this reply:

Dear Meghan,

Thank you for your email and the chance to help!

I am so sorry to hear about the problems you have had with your order and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. DisneyStore.com experienced a system malfunction and the limited edition Snow White doll was oversold. Upon further review, I see that we sent you a sold out notice on 09/20. I am so sorry that you have not received the notice. Our senior management is reviewing this opportunity at this very moment to ensure that upon release of the remaining 5 Designer Princess Dolls, each Guest will receive an equal chance to make a purchase. While I know that this does not compensate for the sold out Snow White Doll, it is our hope that with the new measures taken the next Designer Doll release will be a much more MAGICAL experience. Collectors, such as yourself, will have the capability to purchase and receive any of the currently un-released Designer Princess Dolls. We have delayed the release of the next Designer Doll as we reevaluate our process to ensure that all Guests have a fair opportunity to purchase these highly coveted dolls. Please check blog.disneystore.com and Facebook.com/disneystore. We will provide an update on the new release schedule by Friday, September 23.

I was pleased to assist you today and hope that you will continue to shop with us at DisneyStore.com.

Sincerely,

Telecca

Have a Winnie the Pooh Wednesday!!

THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY THE ORDER WAS CANCELLED ON THE 20th. First of all, I have gmail, so I'm not buying the whole "internet ate my original out of stock notice" excuse. Secondly, I spoke to cast members on the 20th, 22nd, and 26th who confirmed my order was still active, the dolls had been reserved, and they would be shipping. Furthermore, I have a packing slip from my notecards claiming the item shipped, and my order status shows the dolls as shipped. This message is a blatant lie, and if DS really wants to stick with this lie they should explain how my credit card (after the original charge expired due to the order taking too long to ship) was recharged for the cost of the dolls on the 27th. If they want to claim the order was cancelled in their listed time frame, they're admitting to trying to charge for items they did not have and had no intention to ship--I'm pretty sure that's called fraud.

I seriously hope nothing like this happens with the October 18th online release. Not that I'm sure I'll still try buying anything--but best of luck to those of you who do!

Did anyone have such a problem with all the other dolls that came out - seems to be that Snow White was the one with issues and rumors of overselling. All this again makes me wonder how in the world things are going to go for the online release of FIVE dolls!!!

OMG im sooo sorry to hear about all the cancelled orders i thought for sure eveyrone would be safe:( On another note im freaking out about the 17th i will seriously be soo sad if i miss out on them especially Jasmine:( Best of luck for those still waiting to hear about Snow white

I'm very sad that so many of you are having such difficulties with your Snow White orders. I'm lucky to have no such problems with my Designer Princess orders so far.

However, I do have a story about problems with a Disney Store order about two months ago. I had previously always received a shipping notice less than a week after I had ordered something from them. After a week with no shipping notice, I called Guest Services and they gave me a canned speech about standard delivery taking 7-9 business days, so I should be getting them within a week. But all the items I ordered stated that they should only take 5-7 business days. Plus one of the items, Enchanting Mini Princess Collection Disney Princess Doll Set #1, sold out a couple of days after I ordered it, so I was nervous that the shipment was being held up because of that item.

So I call again a week later, with still no shipping notice, and Guest Services this time is all apologetic about the delay, and said that they would expedite the delivery. Shortly afterwards, I find out that they actually made a duplicate order of the items, and was shipping the new order via 3-day express service. Then I get at least two emails stating that they were so sorry that the Mini Princess item was sold out at the time they were fulfilling the order, but I could replace it with any other item of my choice. I actually did get the expedited order three business days after I talked to them (minus the Mini Princesses), then the original order two days later (shipped via standard shipping). The expedited order was entirely free of charge, for the items as well as for shipping and handling. So in the end, I got two of everything for the price of one, but no Mini Princesses, which by the way are still sold out. :(

Here are photos I just took of my twin Snow White Designer Dolls, numbered #3997 and #3998. They are still in their display cases. I will post photos of #3998 with the case removed tomorrow.

Here is midrange photo of Snow White #3998 with the clear plastic case removed. I've adjusted her arm and wrist to make the apple upright. There is a hard plastic sleeve that reinforces her wrist so it isn't bent by the weight of the apple. I had to move it so it was over her wrist rather than over her forearm. Also I fixed up her hair a bit, especially the flyaway hair over her left cheek. You get a much clearer view of Snow than my previous photos through the case.

I honestly think that those of us who have been dealing with Disney for years, and have had problems before, as well as you new folks who are just now experiencing how duplicitous Disney can be when they screw up should contact a law firm and file a class action lawsuit against Disney for their unfair and occasionally illegal business practices. It would cost any of us anything and while you may not get any money out of it, with class actions you rarely ever do, at least Disney would be held accountable and forced to change how the do business. Lying to your customers just because you either don't know the correct information or don't want to admit to screwing up is completely unethical. If they don't know what's going on, Disney should have a canned statement that CMs give to customers when they call in, instead of allowing them to make things up, giving the customer false hope and false information.

My Snow White order was placed before 12:30, so I know that there are a LOT of people who got their dolls who placed their order after me. I am also at risk of not getting my 110th Rapunzel pin because of this mess and she didn't sell out for at least another day or two. I'm not sure how Walt ran things when he was alive, but I'm pretty sure Disney's new practices have him turning in his grave.

I think I'll be researching law firms this week. I've been dealing with a lawsuit against another theme park company and the only thing that these companies care about is money, so if we can all ban together to affect their bottom line, than they will consider fixing the problem, but as individuals I guarantee they will do nothing.

I was told to email personal.shoppers@disney.com

This is the reply I got.

WARNING. This may frighten all audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.

"Dear Robyn,

Thank you for the email and the chance to help.

We are sorry to inform you that the Snow White Designer Doll was not available at the time your order was to be filled. You have not been billed for these items. We apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause.

Sincerely,
Deidre
The Disney Store Team"

Un.Freaking.Acceptable.

That is complete ******* - my order was placed at 12:12...people placing their orders around 1am get theirs? How is that ethical?

WOW Dr your snow white is just amazing:)

OMG Moondance that is totally unfair:( Im so sorry that happend to you i did hear that they were randomly choosing who got the doll no matter what time the order was placed really should of been first in first served:( I hope you manage to get her:(

No surprise there...this kind of thing happened all the time when we were all competing for the LE 100 sets and such. Time stamps didn't matter, we found out really early. Not sure how they pick, but our best guess was biggest orders and customers with high ordering histories might have gotten dibs.

I'm pretty worried for the 17th/18th. I just don't have that "push in line/run to the store" attitude for the stores, and something might go wrong online. I have an extra Snow White, Mulan, and Belle to trade, and I only want Rapunzel and Aurora of the last 5. The others disappointed me in their execution. I'm not even sure I'm keeping my Snow White...I loved her concept art, but the execution didn't turn out as nice. What's funny is that Aurora's concept is my least favorite, but I liked the doll more in person when I saw then I thought I would.

Blah. My idea of a complete set pretty much flew out the window when the announcement for a single day release came down the pike, anyway...

But if things go bad for me on the 17th/18th, maybe I can trade.

To use a famous line...Disney, sometimes I wish I could quit you.

Your Designer Snow White is gorgeous! I got #0330, and her hair on her left side (our right) is a bit lop-sided looking and there are some stray hairs coming out of the hair net. I am afraid to try to fix it. I may make it worse. Still, I love my Designer Snow White and until I get a place to display these dolls, she will be the only one not resting in her brown shipper box. Speaking of which, obviously distribution of the edition numbers are totally random, and the first 500 numbered dolls are not being reserved for the pre-orders at the D23 Expo. Out of curiosity, what is the number closest to #0001 that any of you have received from your dolls so far?

Wow, you ordered way early! There have been these kinds of problems with pins too, usually the Jessica or Tink Halloween pins. I remember last year I ordered and didn't get all the pins but someone I know had ordered after me and got them all. This has to be an issue with the servers - or something.

Just to run numbers, I was trying to find out how many Disney Store locations there are. I couldn't find a solid number but let's say there are 300 stores worldwide. If each store got 10 of each doll - that would be 3000 - so we know that there are LE 4000 dolls yet to be released, so that number is probably not going to happen. It makes sense then that not Every Disney Store is going to have dolls. If all locations get dolls, the numbers would have to be quite low - maybe 5 of each doll per store?

I gave my BF the link as soon as Karkura's link post came up :p

Maybe they're taking all this downtime off so they can work on the servers? :O

There were lists on the Disney store facebook page of which stores got the dolls for the releases - here are the links:

List of Disney Stores that got Cinderella is listed here: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=59526724529&topic=17953
List of Disney Stores that got Ariel is listed here: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=59526724529&topic=17971

List of Disney Stores that got Snow White is listed here: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=59526724529&topic=18094

by my count there were 173 stores that got Cinderella and 176 stores that got Snow White (added were St Louis MO, Westfield - London UK and Calgary Canada)

A few responses to the lists said a listed store did not get the dolls, but you can use it as a ballpark figure.

How many the stores get are based on their "size" though. The store closest to me only got 6 Snow Whites, so that would mean AT MOST they'll get 4 of the LE4000 dolls, and the last release we went there for(Mulan), there were 20 people in line. We did not get her...

Also, what are they going to do about Aurora? Are the stores going to get less of her or is online going to get less of her? Either way, there are already less of her and we don't know how many less because of that whole Mulan/Aurora mix-up.

This is just stressful. Aurora and Rapunzel are the ones Leila wants very badly, and are the only ones she asked for(of course I love them too- Rapunzel especially-, and the only other one I REALLY HAD TO HAVE was Ariel, which I now am so unbelievably lucky to own). So far we have all of them except Cinderella, but I am nervous that we won't get the ones hat started us on this search anyway.
