I am in need of 2, possibly 3, of the Penny Arcade coin chasers. Both Yensid's Arcade:

pin85182
pin85183
pin85185

and possibly the silver version of Starcade.

I recently traded for the Starcade coin, which I thought was the gold version. However, comparing versions side by side, the gold version I had previously obtained is a lot shinier than the newest version I received. Could it possibly be the silver version instead?

So, my question is, is the silver version indeed silver - like a quarter? Or is it just a duller gold version.

Pics above are taken from pinpics.

This is the gold and silver version of the Starcade coins:

My next question is, why is the Merit Badge for cadet a limited edition and the others are limited release?

The Silver Starcade I have is a true silver, not a dulled down gold. Both my silver and gold versions are quite shiny.

As for the Merit Badge, that was treated like a completer, and only given to the first group of people who registered. You will notice there is not a space for it on the Sci-Fi Academy certificate, like there is for the other six. The main set was set as a limited release so they would have enough for everyone who attended the event.

Great, thanks for the info! We don't have a Sci-Fi Academy certificate/diploma (should be getting one in February) so we didn't know. Hmm, then I'm glad sis was able to trade for the cadet. She traded a high numbered LE, thinking that cadet was a limited release.

Plus, if you went to the event, you were given one set of 6 pins and could trade for a second set from the boards.
