Sorry if this is a completely stupid question(s), but I really don't know what to do.

There's a work conference at Anaheim convention center mid-June so I'm taking the opportunity to finally visit DLR! So should I bring a lot of trader pins? I'm not quite sure. Half of me wants to do some trades, but the other half doesn't really want to have to worry about getting them stolen or dragging heavy pin bags around. This is my very first time at DLR and I want to enjoy the parks. I was thinking of bringing a lanyard with some decent traders and some business cards with my DPF and pinpics info and handing those out if I need to. Does this sound reasonable? What do most out-of-town traders do?

Why not bring the bags and if you find you want to trade you can pop back to your hotel and get them. You might enjoy the parks during park hours but have some time/opportunity to trade during some downtime or after hours.

How about consolodating a bunch of good traders into one book. Put it into a backback, and carry it around. Better yet, you can spend the 10 bucks on a large size locker, and have the option of bringing multiple books without being weighed down. Honestly though, if you have not ever been to Disneyland, you should enjoy the park. If you will be there for a few days, maybe dedicate one day to trading, and one day for enjoying the parks. Between DLR and California Adventure, there is so much to do!

I would say enjoy it. You can trade if you want but DLR is counterfeit heaven. And by mid June there will be a lot going on at the resort. So relax. Don't worry about trading unless you want to. Enjoy The park as much as possible. It's no Disney World, but it's enjoyable and fun :]

Carsland opens in June, depending on your visit dates prepare for mass crowds. I agree with a big book of traders in a back pack, I do it all the time. WDW pins will trade at a premium over DLR pins also. Maybe we can schedule an impromptu DPF trading event for you.

This is my normal trading situation at the park. So let me answer this one directly. --> YES, bring your traders. If you can manage it in advance, you might even be able to set up some higher level trades. Otherwise, I would only bring a few expendable high level traders. Plan to visit my D-Store, if your schedule permits.

As for trading at the park, Disneyland has no more counterfeits/scrappers than Disneyworld.

I've previously posted a "guide" for trading at the park. http://disneypinforum.com/showthread.php?11749-Dlr-best-pin-locations Your milage may vary, but I had no problem making dozens of trades with both cast members, guests, books (sadly now "on hiaitus"), and boards. Pins from WDW and other Disney properties will trade well as they don't see many of those items. And the ones they do see don't last for long on lanyards. Take full advantage of the lockers to keep your load down to a minimum. While close, hotels are still an hour round trip via Anaheim Resort Transit. And who wants to waste time getting bags that can be better spent at the park riding or trading.

But most importanly -- HAVE FUN. There are rides and attractions at both Disneyland, and the hten reopened/rethemed DCA. Man does not live by pin trading alone.
