This is gonna be our first PoDM release (I think we put the right acronyms)

And we were wondering if you had any tips for aspiring Ariel pin collectors

If anyone could help us answer these questions it would be great

Where do they sell the pins? Do they sell them at LGM?
How many can we get?
What time should we show up?

Thank you fellow pin trading people
Or traders
or tradees? I dont know

Emporium, LGM, Westward Ho, Masquerade, Toon Town at DLR will have them.
DTD trading post and World of Disney will have them.
In DCA I think Fly n' Buy will have them and not sure about any other places. No LE's in cars land at all that I saw so I'm not sure their stores will get them or not.

You can buy 2 per person and per store, although the second part is not Disney policy. Don't be waving your already purchased ones out for the CM to see.

Get there at opening, before if you can. Stand in line. Follow everyone else. Both parks open at the same time which I think is a first for a PODM release. We'll see but I think DLR is your better bet.

I dont know where the emporium is

But sweet thanks!!

Do people park at the parking lot in the morning? Doesn't it open at 7?

The Emporium is the main store at Disneyland... the one people stop by upon entering DL and before leaving DL. It's right next to the fire station but that place won't have as much as other places. Not to mention they've already sold some of their Opening Day Brave pins. ;)

The Emporium is located on Main St in DLR as you enter through the left tunnel. First big store on the left. When I went to DLR on Sunday June 17th, the Mickey & Friends parking structure opened at 6:30am! But who knows on the weekdays.

I'll be there in 2 weeks. Do you think they will still have the PoDM pins? When I was there in Nov they had 20 of them stocking the shelves, should have got a few then. Didn't realize they would get so popular.

Depends on movie and scene quality. I think the Little Mermaid, being a very popular animated movie, will sell out fairly quickly. Tangled was gone in about 3 hours and only took that long because how slow the buying process is. I'm guessing Ariel will last a tad longer but wouldn't expect it to last the day. Now with how busy the parks are with the DCA relaunch.

Westward Ho organizes pins by scene but if you're not like first in line then they all go quickly and the plain scenes are left. You sort of have to go with an idea of what scene you want and look for it. It may be the most popular, like the Gondola scene from Tangled, but get the scene you want. Then spend time looking through all the rest. Don't let the CM rush you. Look at more, ask for more. Take your time. You may find one that is completely different than the rest and rare. Listen to the buzz and other traders. See what they want or what they already got.

I think I want to try the LGM store or westward ho
cuz I know if I get there at 630 I won't get a good spot in the line at dtd

I'm going more for Brave opening day than Ariel so there may not be too much madness for different scenes and it might move along faster. I don't think we'll see the mayhem of Tangled where the westward ho line was back to Main St.

6:30 is not early enough for DTD but okay for DLR? This is my first PODM release also...

Ok now i dont know what's going on,
is 630 early enough for DLR? Would it be faster to try and get in on the rope drop? Or to go through the monorail i dont know

ya'all are confusing the poor trader!

  • Rope drop is when they let people in.
  • Emporium has a small selection of podms and is near the firestation on main street.
  • Westward Ho will have the largest selection of pins, and thus the longest line.
  • If the park opens at 8am, the structure should be open about 6 or 6:30.
  • If you are buying more than 2 of this pin, put your other pins away at each place, the rule is 2per person. CM's will not let you buy more than 2 at a location, and might not let you buy more if they see you with some already. Not really a big deal, but they are trying to cut back on the pin hogs and re-sellers.
  • Fortunatly, no-where near the number of presellers on ebay for this release. I think the Tangled craze scare em. Maybe a few had to give to many refunds. lol This means the release might not be so bad.

As to the brave opening day pin... can everyone please remember us folks with little kids would like to buy ONE for ourselves? And cannot get there at the crack of dawn or run to line up? hahaha
