Brave Pin
Seeing as how he's currently the only one selling the pins, and seeing as how people are actually paying what he's asking for them, I guess that is the current market value. Of course we all know how volatile the pin market can be.
Supply and demand tells us that more people will see the demand for the pin, and therefore more people will begin selling it. Then there will be more supply, and less demand. And most of the diehard fans who are willing and/or able to pay high prices will have already bought their set, so there will be no one left willing to pay that much. So the price will go down. I can't really blame him for trying to get as much money as he can, while he still can.
Also, to be fair, he did start the price fairly low on the first one ($50). Who can blame him for seeing if he can get more out of it? He is not a pin collector, much less a forum member, so he has no feelings of responsibility to the community to help us out. He's just a guy with bills to pay, who is making the most of an opportunity.
The only thing I'm concerned about with the ebay listings, is that it appears that he is misrepresenting the edition size. But we don't know for sure that this is on purpose. Perhaps he has not opened any of the packages to look at the back of the pins. Perhaps the edition size was originally scheduled to be 300, and the Studio Store sales clerk didn't know they bumped it up, and told him that it was LE300. In addition, regarding the LE discrepancy, I will say that it is up to the buyer to be informed about what they are purchasing. And my guess is that if someone is willing to shell out $150, they are probably a big enough fan that they have already found the PinPics listing, and they already know the real edition size.
*Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with the ebay seller, just in case anyone was getting ideas. Haha!
.
Amy: I truly hope you can get your hands on the logo pin (and the Merida/Mumbear one too)! Remember, no pin is unattainable. You were actually a part of the multi-person trade that taught me that lesson!
Good luck to everyone wanting these pins!
