Well, they finally got around to it. This morning they were tracking the number of pins you buy per pass and they only apply discounts accordingly. I used to be able to buy 4 pins with my premium pass and a kids deluxe pass all at 20% off but now they are tracking each pass and they only give discounts according to pass. 2 pins @ 20% off, 2 pins at 10% off.

I'm waiting to hear if they can tell at other stores you already bought them of if they just care about the discounts. I didn't try to go to another store and find out. Did anyone buy at 2 pins at 2 different stores and get your full discount at both?

wow...sounds cool... mayb they will inforce the 2 pin rule in the same way... sorry i know sum ppl dont like me to say that....

I believe it is fair. We would always get the short end when it came to LE Pins at DLR because people dont respect the 2 pins per person rule. We think it will maybe run smoother for the Liin King if they do it this way. MAYBE?

That is genius!!! Once i saw that you could buy the LE pins at different locations, i thought damn, people can get up to 6,8,or even 10 pins. This way is fair and a really good idea. Gives a chance for everybody else. :hsd:

At DTD they were not tracking the number of pins. We had three people, bought six and they only scanned one pass for the discount. It took the 20% off for all six and that was on one pass. I know several poeple that bought at World of Disney and DTD and they got the discount as well.

I had heard about that the same time I was given the rumor about wristbands, but discounted that as just a rumor. I guess it's true, easier to get the software to work than people. It is probably going to be tweaked some more until they get it down to not allow more than 2 pins per passholder eventually. Why it did it work at DTD IS a good question.

I wonder if I just got a bad CM that was a stickler or something. She even rang up seperate orders with the different pass levels. I asked for 3 GWP pins and she forgot those too.

Nope. It is phase 1 of 3 phase implementation. Phase 2 it will be at most kiosks and phase 3 will include hotels and bar purchases beyond the two per person limit, period. So once phase 3 is pushed out, just don't show your pass and pay full price.

What TWDC is looking to do is discourage the Ebay resellers, as they know by not being able to get 20% for the whole lot will hurt their bottom line and in turn they will have to ask more, which means less people will buy.

I did ask about wristbands, and the feedback is that it is less costly to implement software changes forever, rather than pay CM's on a continuous basis.
