I am putting my personal collection in my pin book!! Finally!! I wanted to know if its safe to put tape on the back of the pins to keep some of them from twisting around especially the dangle pins so like every time I turn pages I always have to fix the page to turn the pins around and move the dangle pins from going upright.

So, I want to know if it's safe and OK to put folded tape on the back of the pin in the pin book to help support it by holding the pin as well. I am just worried it may ruin the back of the pin or do you think it should be fine? Thank you

I've never used tape. I like to put dangles in the heavy duty trading card pages. It protects them really well and keeps them from flopping around.

I gave this stuff a try. It works decently well, and with a tiny bit of a rub will roll up and remove from the pin.

Elmers brand. Craft bond glue spots. Thin/small

Comes in an orange and black box. I think it is made for scrap book projects because it does not roll remove from paper the same way it does metal and cloth. Works to keep pins from bouncing/banging on my display lanyard too.

TRY getting some craft plastic baggies and then tape the baggie to the pages
that way it will NOT damage the pin or get sticky residue on them either

I've had the same issue with dangle pins and very heavy pins with just one backer. I don't mind baggies for my traders, but I don't want my personal collection "sanitized for your protection"!

I too have wondered about using tape--I have used double sided scotch tape in my trader bags for about a year with no observable damage, but I too am worried about long-term damage.

Any suggestions for long term pin control that would be invisible from the outside?

I use double sided tape and it works just fine :0)

I have been doing this too for years, with no problem. I also keep all pins with dangles, moving parts, 3D rubber pieces, and shiny epoxy surfaces that easily scratch, in small ziplock bags in my pin book. When necessary, I put two-sided tape on the back of ziplock bag to hold it in place.

I'm guessing that, long term, tape may end up leaving residual glue on the pins.

Has anyone tried embroidery thread to tie the pin in place? Perhaps it's too much work and difficult to place.

Rubber cement? I would think it would peel right off.

Maybe some scrappers will have to become guinea pigs...

I use a bit of sewing thread in my pin books for dangles, just one little stitch strategically placed holds the pin in place.
