Pin Traders of the World Unite for Charity!

Hello everybody! Some of you may remember last year I held a Pin Trading Day for Charity in the UK. It was a huge success and raised an impressive £535.00 for the Scott Ward Schofield Memorial Fund. The charity raises funds to send children and young adults with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) on holidays with their families.

Scott was my pin trading buddy and the charity was set up in his memory after he passed away at the age of 20. I am hoping this year to raise even more money and continue to support this amazing charity. I cannot do it without the support of the pin trading community who last year were very generous in their donations of pins!

I plan to hold several raffles depending how may pins get donated. If you would like to donate a pin for the raffle please inbox me for details of where you can post it to. Also this year I have decided to include Vinylmation trading into the days events. So if you have a vinylmation you would like to donate... boxed or unboxed please inbox me. Anything Disney will be greatly received!

Ickle bump for charity! Please inbox me for details of where you can send your pin and vinylmation donations. This is for a great cause and tonight I met a little boy called Mason who suffers from EB. He has just returned from a holiday with his family that was paid for by the charity. Our aim is to provide lasting memories for the families who have children or young adults with EB.

Meeting Mason and his family tonight and seeing the photos from their holiday makes all the hard work that the Scott Ward Schofield Memorial Fund have done to raise the money for these holidays worth while. Over the year since the charity begun it has provided holidays for 8 families around the world. Even though it is based in the UK it will provide a holiday for a child or young adult with EB and their family no matter where they live in the world.

this is a great charity event, I attended it last year it was alot of fun and alot of pins were donated from kind forum members, and Im hoping people can spare a few pins to donate to the charity as last year there was many kind hearted people who donated pins towards the raffle and this thread has been viewed over a hundred times and not many offers to donate a thing, last year there were members here who are no longer posting who helped out so does it show that all the good ones are gone and no one can give to charity.

If anyone has any doubts about the thread maker, I can say she is a great trader and a personal friend on mine and for anyone wanting to donate can message her or myself regarding any donations.

Im hoping more people will come forward and offer to donate even 1 pin, Id say we got over 150 pins donated last year (possibly more) so lets try and beat that this year.
 
Thank you to those who have sent me a pm about where to send your donations for the trading day. I have also sent a pm to those who asked me to message them.

It was very disheartening to begin with not having a single reply to this thread in the first 3 days after it was posted. But the replies and pm have started coming in! I can't thank the pin trading community enough and I hope the kindness and generosity continues. I will post pictures of donations as they arrive for everyone to see.

I think we can beat 150 pins this year!

I lost someone very close to me at 18 so you can put me down for a donation.

I have replied to your pm. Thank you!

Like you say every pin helps and it doesn't matter if you send a core pin, LE, lanyard booster set, pin sets or even a hidden Mickey. They don't have to be on cards either as I know if you are like me you will have loose pins in bags and boxes! Every pin will go into either the raffle or as individual prizes for other events on the day.

Vinylmation traders will be there on the day too and I'm hoping to get some Vinylmation or VM jnr donations as raffle prizes. Again they don't have to be in boxes as I know you have to open the blind boxes to see what you get!

Any donation is a good donation no matter how big or small. So pin traders of the world Unite for charity!

Hi Em!

Yes that is totally fine to turn up on the day with donations. Quite a few who attended last year brought donations on the day. A lot of the traders who could not attend the event posted pin donations and I cannot thank them enough for their support, kindness and generosity!

This is a great charity and every penny raised at the pin trading event will go directly to them! I am asking the pin traders of the world to unite for charity. Even if you can only send one pin it will make all the difference to the raffle and how much we will make on the day!

On behalf of the Scott Ward Schofield Memorial Fund registered charity 1143635 The charity raises money to send children and young adults who suffer from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) on much needed holidays with their families.

We would like to invite you to join us on this magical day full of fun! The days event includes a raffle full of Disney Goodies and of course PIN and VINYLMATION TRADING! All funds raised will be donated to the charity.

When and where...
Saturday 13th October 12pm until 5pm
at Middleton and chadderton sea cadets
265a Oldham Road, Failsworth, Manchester, M35 0AS

There is a car park and the venue is easily accessable from the M60 or by tram Manchester Victoria Station (to Failsworth) or by bus from Piccadilly Manchester 82 or 83 bus

Tickets will be £10 for Adults
£5 for Children (under 7s free)
£25 family ticket for 2 Adults & 2 Children
Payable on the door at the days event.

Refreshments and snacks will be available for purchase.

Those of you who attended this event last year will remember what a great day we all had and the amazing raffle prizes! We raised an impressive £535.00 I would like to thank you for your continued support at this years event!

Please if you can only donate one pin or Vinylmation then one is better than none. The response to my request for donations has not been as great as last year and it does get very disheartening. It is for a great cause and every pin or Vinylmation donated will become a raffle prize and will help raise more money for the charity. The charity is based in the UK but does help out EB sufferers worldwide.

I appreciate that pin & vinylmation trading can be an expensive hobby and postal rates have gone up everywhere. I'm not asking you all to part with your PODM's but if you want to that is great! Seriously, any pin donation is better than none. It could be a cast lanyard pin, core pin, LE or vinylmation. There have been lots of views of this post but very little response.

Scott was my pin trading buddy who loved all things Disney. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate his memory than doing a pin trading event... Doing something he loved. Last year we raised £535.00 doing this event and I was overwhelmed by the response of the pin trading community. I have always said Disney people are the nicest people I have met . Please share the magic and donate a pin.
