WOWZA! THE LOT OF 80 MARQUEE'S JUST SOLD ON EBAY FOR

$3,800!!!

as true marquee collectors we'd like to send out a personal congratulations to whomever won. From what we can tell, the person who won seems to be new to Ebay with only a "3" next to their hidden name. Maybe they are new to Pin Trading as well! But non the less, congratulations to who u are! You have gotten yourself quite the Start to being a marque completist!!

Only downside i guess, is that the Fantastic 4 of Marquees weren't on there... Tangled, Wall-E, Enchanted and UP.

Anyhoo! Enough about this! Hope to see everyone tomorrow at DSF!!!

I saw that and was like, wow! That's a lot of money for those marquees when the Fantastic Four aren't included!

Yeah, not to take away anything from the person who won it. I give credit to anyone who loves something that much to shelve out that much. If you think about it, 80 marquees for $3,800 is about $47.50 a pin. Which isnt bad considering, Ratatouille is there, Bolt, Snow White, 101 Dalmatians, Sleeping Beauty, Pinochhio. There are about 12 pins i personally dont think would ever go close to $50. But getting the other ones i just listed for that $47.50 makes up for it somewhat.

I saw that it was sold and was a little shocked that someone paid that price without at least one of the big 4 being included. But to each their own! I am sure the seller and the buyer are both happy. So that's what matters.

yeah, craziness! for some reason, the whole time I thought it was ALL marquees that have ever been released, but once the auction was over, i was looking more closely at the pics, and noticed the missing 4.

now, is anyone else watching the Year 1 PODM auction (missing Sword in the Stone)? some pretty good scenes too!!

And even that collection is missing the ONE marquee pin I need... Just plain-old Chronicles of Narnia.

Anyone have one they can part with? Pleeeeease?
:wiggle:
It was cool seeing that lot forsale though... The last time I saw someone that was apparently giving up their marquee collection they listed them all individually... That's how I got a lot of my older ones, it was a few years ago though.

I was, literally, #81 in line at 1pm today! Grrr... (Or whatever # I was, the person in front of me got the last wrist band...) But the marquees will still be available for the final 80 wrist bands, so I should be good there...

The marquees will be available for up to 250 people (LE500, 2 per person). Wristband #151 and higher will probably only get the marquee

I used to work as a projectionist in a movie theater, so movie theater-themed things appeal to me... :) That's what motivated me to collect the marquees in the first place- little theater signs that look (somewhat) exactly like the real sign on the building.

They do seem to be increasing in popularity though...
