toying with an auction idea

I think that it is a great idea and I think that you truly have a mother's heart. So gentle and kind, yet willing to teach the ropes :)

I have 2 suggestions though:

1. Run it by the mods and get their approval to make it official. Some members might not be ok with the idea of auctions being open to only certain people.

2. Feedback is not always an indicator of being a newbie. Some people local to the parks prefer to trade in person and have a very limited on-line trading interest.

First off, how incredibly kind! thank you for the compliment. :)

for #1: It wont be like high end pins that EVERYONE wants, and i figure the mods have enough to worry about. The auction will clearly state that it is not a rule, but that the auction is aimed at novice online traders. I sincerely doubt most of our "highly active experienced" auction house bidders will be much interested. Pins will be decent, no upside downs t/w etc... but still pretty basic.

for#2: This is something I have been trying to figure out as well. To me, while yes, feedback is not THEE indicator, it certainly plays a large role in how people treat a potential trade with someone with little to no dpf feedback. It will give some of our newer members a chance to gain feedback on their itrader ratings.

This series of auctions will be to kind of teach the new members how to bid, what a typical auction format looks like and some of the basic etiquette. I am hoping to also teach people about adding pictures, and links to posts. Get them comfortable with the processes so that as they start going into higher end pin auctions, they are ready.

If I can help out with this I would be very happy to contribute pins or whatever else you can use!!!

While I totally appreciate the offer, I got this one covered! ((pin wise anyway)) :) If I didn't use them in this style auction they would have been run as "psychotically simple" auctions.I might ask for your input during auctions with things like bid styles, when to bid, when to stop etc.... I am sure there will be things that I don't notice that you can help with! You are a bidding force to be reckoned with when you get in on an auction!
