I have a couple questions about DSF as I have been to LA over 20 times and never heard of it until now.

1.what is it?
2. Where is it?
3. Why are the pins so exciting compared to normal ones?
4. Are they usually expensive compared to normal pins?

Thanks for your help,

Corvyn

2. Off Hollywood and Highland across from the Kodak Theater
3. Their releases usually deal with new movies coming out and being shown in their theaters or popular movies/characters. They seem to be a good source for lower LE sizes that are good traders.
4. Pins are a little above average costs from parks, but aftermarket pricing is off the charts.

Hope that helps!

It's a little ice cream shop that also serves food. It also has a small shop that sells videos, plush and some of the other usual gift shop type stuff as well as pins.

2- Actually, that's the Dolby Theater now... For those that don't know the Dolby (Kodak) by name, it's the theater where (among other things) the Academy Awards are held.

DSF is also attached to the El Capitan theater, which is Disney's showcase theater. Whenever they have red-carpet premieres for Disney movies, they almost always happen at the El Capitan.

The pins can also be a big deal also because two very popular series of pins are made and sold by the DSF: The Beloved Tales series (that caused all the fun this last week), and movie Marquees (released every time a new movie comes out at the El Capitan theatre).

Iron Man 3 will be opening there in a few weeks, there will be a marquee (as well some other IM pins probably) for that release, so that release is likely to draw some attention as well...

Actually, it's not just 2 series that are popular as their Pin Trader's Delights are a big hit as well. :squint:

With the downturn (to put it politely) of pin releases from disneystore.com, DSF is one of the few places left in the US for low LE pins that, especially, new pin collectors are looking for to trade for older pins that they are searching for (in addition to nice pins for their collection) and of course, sellers who are looking for a new collectibles source for income.
