I feel as if there was a repetition of the Amy Adams situation with Mila Kunis. Either way, I hope Disney Store wasn't lying in that eMail but they in a sense had told the truth by giving us China Girl. I guess they made a funny since she was an actual doll in the movie and made a "Life Sized" version of her.
 
Hey everyone, I just got back from my local disney store and as always, I was chatting away with cast members about the new products to come. They got in a couple of new Little Mermaid products today and a cast member was kind enough to show me....There is a gift set comparable to the cinderella one released last year. The set comes with Ariel, Eric, King Triton, Ursula, little figures of scuttle, Sebastian and flounder and.....wait for it..... A VANESSA DOLL!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's dressed in a white dress with a seashell pattern to it and the necklace that hold Ariel's voice. The strange this is her skin tone, it's not the same as Ariel, Eric or Triton. She has a lavender tone to her skin, as if Ursula's skin is under her. They also have a set of the small dolls, that is Ariel and her sisters. Still no news on the limited edition Ariel:/

Thanks for posting, sounds awesome! That means it's even more likely that there will be a Limited Edition surprise Vanessa released beside Ariel in October... yaaay!! :hsd:
 
Yes, the other dolls are from the current play line. Ariel is the 2013 version. Hopefully they will make the sisters in in the 12 inch version as well:) I also love the Vinylmation collection for little mermaid.

Wow, thanks so much for the heads up! I have been wishing for a Vanessa doll for a long time now, so I'm excited to add her to my collection finally! I'm glad I didn't buy any of the Little Mermaid dolls yet, because now I can buy this set with all the figures in it!

Btw, could you tell us if Eric comes in his Wedding/Formal outfit, or in his Sailor/normal one? I have been wishing to get Eric in his formal outfit, but somewhere around 2012, they stopped distributing this version, and instead carried the sailor one. Since then it was impossible for me to get this doll as the only available one was the sailor outfit, so hopefully I can finally get him in this set. Thanks!
 
He's in his sailor outfit, I'm pretty sure they will have a wedding set as well. The cm said there's a lot of mermaid merch to come;)
 
Ok, so I can't remember what thread here said something about StitchKingdom releasing an "insider" video or review on the upcoming Little Mermaid merchandise that is yet to come. When was that supposed to be shown? I am hoping that it is very similar to the one that showed the LE Cinderella doll last year. I will be studying that video like a conspiracy theorist. The Cinderella one had enough of a sliver of Lady Tremaine in the background for me to know she would be surprise released. Hopefully they will do the same and show if there will be an Ursula, Vanessa, or both.
I just wanna know! :D

So, grasping at hopes for a new doll...tomorrow is when they are celebrating the 25th anniversary of "Who Framed Rodger Rabbit". Probably won't get anything...but here's hoping.
 
'Sleeping Beauty' has been confirmed for a Fall 2014 Diamond Edition release, meaning we will FINALLY get a Limited Edition Aurora doll. With the live action 'Maleficent' movie releasing next year, it will be perfect timing. I am SO excited for this release, and REALLY hope that the LE doll with be truly beautiful, as it's in the name.

As 'Maleficent' is being released to theaters in July 2014, the Blu Ray release will probably coincide with the 'Sleeping Beauty' Diamond Edition release around October, leaving a perfect opportunity for a Maleficent doll in LE form too, as the surprise villain release :roll:
 
I really hope that Aurora will be in her blue dress, but I'm not holding my breath. All of the LE dolls have their iconic look and it would be nice to see Aurora in blue since the dress was that color the whole time she was wearing it except for a few seconds at the end of the movie. It isn't right that Aurora has to wear pink because Cinderella wears blue. Cinderella's dress was never blue. I really think they should have done Cinderella's dress in white/silver since that would have been movie accurate. Plus the dress that Cinderella's animal friends made for her was pink. I'm tired of Disney's attitude that once one princess wears a color no other princess can wear that color. There are just too many princesses to get away with that any more. Sorry for the rant. This issue has just frustrated me for a long time.
 
Well, hello! Blue is just better! ;) But really, I'm in favor of the blue dress so much more than the pink one. I bet it'll be pink...or...to make even more money, they'll do one of each. I'd enjoy it if they took inspiration from those "couture" figures being released soon and kind of did the two in one. (If they just had to put her in pink.)

And, Maleficent if my freaking grail of this collection. I hope she is so movie accurate that it's ridiculous. AND! I hope she is only cartoon movie accurate. I'll gladly take an Angelina Disney Movie Collection Maleficent doll...but I hope and expect the Maleficent LE to be from the cartoon!

And completely agree TinkerTigg. I would love an Angeline Jolie movie collection Maleficent, but I prefer the LE to be based on the animated version. Imagine how much merchandise there will be next year for Aurora and Maleficent though... oh my god!
