Belle's dress is the same color, it's just not exactly the same shade. Disney always makes Cinderella dolls with a blue dress that is supposed to be her ball gown (which is really white/silver), so it wasn't a surprise that her LE doll's dress was blue. Whereas Ariel's seashells are purple, but in the picture it looks like they are gold. Ariel's tail is also a much lighter and brighter shade of green unlike in the picture where it looks like a dark green.

Bell's dress isn't the same as the movies. Plus Blonde Rapunzel's LE dress was super spoofed up then what it normally is. And they did change the first Merida LEs color, The gold in her sleeves is supposed to be like a dark blue, not gold. Theres no gold in that dress in the movies. And Cinderella didn't have a huge bling hair jewel or a million and one curls. Some people even left reviews on the Disney Stores page of Cinderella that said she looked like a burlesque girl from Vegas . so little changes like this is not new. They also gave Ariel a brand new green dress instead of her pink one, just to update the style. That could be why her shells aren't purple. They're probably just trying to make it a little more fancy shmancy than normal.
Whatever the case, I'd buy her regardless just cause I'm addict for them, and I'm usually okay with how they turn out. So I might not the best of judge, not really picky, but I think they did a pretty good job. She'll look lovely next to the other LE dolls. sorry to ruffle any feathers, I didn't intend too :anxious: Ill just go back silently stalking the forum >< lol

Unfortunately they didn't have the LE Ariel on display yesterday at the Disney Consumer Holiday Preview event, which is a real shame because they had LE Cinderella there last year. I guess we may have to wait a little longer for close ups :cry:
I heard the pre order date is July 15th, is that still relevant ? I suppose it's al speculation at this point. Maybe once they announce the pre order they will have a display of her in the store like with the other LEs.

I think there's a little difference between Cindy & Ariel because... well Cinderella has really always been marketed in a blue dress with blonde hair (yes a bit More prominent blonde & blue lately, but Ariel has never been marketed with a purple fin... possibly why I'm a little put off. but I loveher anyway... she's Ariel!!!
Sorry guys what I meant was the fact that they went with the more common mermaid look for Ariel rather than giving her the theme park disney princess green dress that they use for marketing as a result of the people's reaction towards disney using the disney park princess marketing look for cinderella I.e blue dress, strawberry blonde hair, last year?
Also I didn't think Ariel's fin was purple, I sorta see a dark green shade?? I dunno I could be wrong but I just think we will know better once the official stock photos are released.

And my bad - it's probably not purple, I have only seen the picture on my phone in weird light so I probably got the colour wrong. Off to go search for the picture on my laptop!!

Actually I believe they based the LE doll's dress after the gown Merida wears in the final scene of the film when she is riding with Elinor. While the tunic/sleeves aren't outright gold, they have threads of gold (as does the hem of the skirt), and other than that the doll is very accurate. In fact, of the princess type dolls, I think Merida is the most movie accurate. The 5000 series princesses have iconic gowns on but all of them are embellished or more elaborate in some manner.

Yeah so in the end they DID change the colors of Merida. Even it was slightly, and the same with Ariel. Thats my point. In some way or another all the dolls have a "different aspect" about them. And just like you said they are all "embellished" in some form of way. While Merida here does pretty damn close to being movie actuare , shes not %100 accurate. (which i honestly don't care about, she's still freaking gorgeous.) All I'm saying is even though her bra shells are a different color and her tail is darker, that shouldn't exclude her from this line. I suppose its all a matter of opinion but I would buy her regardless and include her in my LE collection without a second thought. As for why they went with the "park version" of her, who knows. Who knows why they decided to pair Merida with her mom even.I think Disney knew either way people were going to be unhappy , regardless if they put her in her pink dress, green dress or her fin. There's always something to nitpick about. At least this way she's more movie accurate than if she had been thrown into her sea green dress which didn't even exist in the movie. (still really pretty) But I'm pretty happy with the way she turned out, just glad that we finally got a picture! And you can take this how you want, not trying to be rude or anything. its just my opinion :/

RIGHT! Gah! I was not blessed with any form of patience. I want to see these new dolls so freaking much! So much for my hope of them showing us the Ariel doll as we freeze frame to see a tentacle of the Ursula doll hiding in the background. I so hope she is leaked (or, you know, actually announced) soon.

I'm a fairly patient person, but this is killing me. I think part of it is just the fact that we thought we would see the doll in the Holiday Preview, but that didn't happen. I'm glad that we have at least seen a photo of her, but it is pretty blurry and if anything it's just made me more anxious to see higher resolution photos of her. Plus I was really hoping we would get a sneak peak of Ursula at the preview event. I know that it won't be long before our wait is over, but when you're so excited for something a short period of time can seem like an eternity.

I'm pretty sure when LE 17" Cinderella came out I used my PayPal to pre-order her from DS.com.
So yes, I think you can use PayPal on DisneyStore.com (but not in the physical stores).
EeeEEe I feel quite sure I'll be getting Ariel! I'm in the UK should I preorder from the US Disney store and pay all that evil shipping and customs fees - or should I buy from the UK store with no preorder...will she definitely be sold on the UK site?
Same here, the first time I tried to buy anything from the Disney Store by paypal, it rejected me because I was outside the states. Had to use credit card.
I have used Paypal for pre-order dolls on Disney Store US and I live in Sweden
