Limited edition number question

I have a quick question about the numbers given to limited edition items. I know that the lower numbered items are usually more valuable, but what if a number looks more attractive but is a bit higher. For example I have 2 of a limited edition ariel doll with the humbers 4442 and 4600. I know that 4442 is lower, but 4600 looks more attractive because it is more of a flat number. I would appreciate some feedback.

The number you get really will not have a difference to the actual doll. At the end of the day every number would mean something different to everyone, in your case you seem to value the 4600 doll because it is a rounded number whereas for someone else they may prefer the 4442 because it is lower or because it has the number 4 consecutively 3 times. So there are many reasons why a person may value a number.

The reason why the lower numbers appear to be more prominent is because that is one thing that most people generally look for i.e the lower your number the better because like most things it is just in human nature to want to have the most exclusive which can sometimes be associated with lower numbers i.e the lower the number the more likely your doll was one of the first produced which in turn makes people want it more.

So really every number could mean something different to everyone so there really isnt a right or wrong answer in this case.

I think some people just don't care so long as they have a doll, so lower is just a bonus. If I can ever get a Snow White I won't care what her number is. But if I was given the choice between two dolls I'd go for the lower one or the one that means something to me.

Like I would pick repeating numbers or anything with an 8 in it before a lower number that was not repeating or had numbers I don't like. I'd take my birth year over a lower number unless the lower number was way lower. I like 3 and 5 and 1s. I don't care for 4 and 2s.

I wonder if 666 is a bad or good number to have. I think some people might be turned off by it, and others might want it for the weirdness.

To me the number is not a contributing factor as to whether or not I will like the doll/item any more or less. If I happen to get a low number, great. If I don't I will still love my merchandise. :)
However like Rapunzelsalat stated, I do believe some people may be turned off by certain numbers. I wonder if their have been people that have sold or traded their doll or other limited edition item because of the superstitions behind certain numbers.

I don't care about numbers. Maybe I would if I received a number significant to my personal life. In the case of Ariel and the Fairy Tale Couple, I do think that 6000 would be more interesting to have than a low number doll other than #1. After all, she will be the last one ever made.

Btw, is there such a thing as a display model for any limited ed dolls made by Disney? Dolls that would not be numbered? Or numbered in different manner from main batch (e.g. DM1, DM2, etc.)?
