... And it's not for me! :)

I've sort of taken a step back from the forum for a little while. Lots of things going in in my personal life and some general reassessment of some of my relationships, both online and off. I've taken on a permanent second job and Dan and I are preparing to relocate soon, so my shadowbox making has definitely slowed down to nearly a standstill. However, there are two people who I will never EVER deny a commission, no matter how crazy things get. I'm thrilled to have my work displaying the amazing collections of the Wax family, and given how popular Frozen is right now, I wanted to share my latest creation for Darris and Angie!

My first ever Frozen shadowbox! This is one of my favorites I've ever created and I am so pleased it's staying within the family, so to speak! :) This is a one of a kind (I never make the same frame twice!) shadowbox, and it features a few "firsts" for me - painted glass (frosted, to look like Elsa's worked her magic) with iridescent sparkles like snow and multi-level embellishments of silk flower, rhinestone, glass pearl and resin snowflakes. I am really proud of this!

Bottom left corner. You can kind of see the "frost" in the corner of this one.

I'm so pleased that Darris and Angie love this one, and I can't wait to see it displaying their beautiful new Frozen collection!!

Thanks for looking!

GASP! I love that painted glass portion O_O Wow, I gotta start painting glass myself. That is truly a spectacular shadowbox, I have to admit, the only reason I want to collect Frozen right now is because the Frozen lanyards, shadowboxes, and corkboards are drool-worthy WITHOUT any pins on them either haha

Thanks guys!

I find it hard to get really excited about the merchandise for films before I see the movie and decide how I really feel about the characters, but there's no shortage of inspiration in the artwork from Frozen, so creating this was really a joy and a lot of fun. I'd never painted on glass before, and this was really easy once I started using the right brush, haha.

I'll likely pass on the pins for Frozen, but I'm really glad I got an opportunity to make a display for these pins!! Thanks for your compliment. :)

J'aimie, your work never ceases to inspire, and always amazes me!! I have no doubt Darris and Angie will make great use of the shadowbox and their collection could not have a more fitting and stunning home!

I too am usually not one to become very excited about a movie until it comes out, but Frozen is the exception for me because as you said the artwork really is inspiring! I especially love the Elsa merchandise that has been coming out (still have to get around to getting her journal that caught my eye as soon as I saw it!). And now that I know a lot about the story from spoilers (yes, I actually sought them out... I'm not one for surprises anyway ), I really have high hopes for the movie- it really sounds like such a beautiful story ^.^

Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to share your latest artwork with us! My time on the forum has been sparing as well, but I always enjoy seeing your posts. :) Hope all goes well with yours and Dan's relocation, and hope everything is well with you!!

Your talent is absolutely stunning!!! It is gorgeous!!! :D I hope you are able to get everything figured out and situated so we can all see you around more and more! You are truly missed around here! :) Good luck with everything and I hope to see some more new shadowboxes soon! ;)

Oh my gosh! That's beautiful! I have seen pictures of your previous work, and this is definitely one of my favorites! You are so talented!

When things lighten up for you, I'd love a custom shadow box ;)

Congratulations on your wedding, too! <3

This is lovely. I love winter ("Something There" is one my favourite moments in Beauty and the Beast) the 'frosting' is a really nice touch, especially along the bottom as it looks just like the ice that builds up around a window! I hope you continue to share your other shadowbox creations too. :)

You are my hero. Seriously. You are obviously creatively gifted, but just from "lurking" quietly around the forum, I have always been able to tell that you are a kind and generous soul as well. I wish there wasn't so much hype about Frozen ALREADY so that I could convince myself it's worth the stress of collecting these pins--I would be begging you to make me a shadowbox similar to this one. In the meantime, belated congrats on your happily ever after, and good luck with all your current and future endeavors!

Woah. Lot of love around this thread, thank you to each and every one of you for your compliments and kindness. :) I'm always really flattered by the reception to my work... You guys make me feel like a true artist, ha. :wavey:

I've got a few others waiting in the wings for the fabulous Waxes and a few I've started for myself as my collection (amazingly) continues to grow. Thank you all for the kindness. This definitely was a much needed pick-me-up tonight!

Great looking box, but I couldn't tell how many Frozen pins are inside because of the blizzard  (insert ba dum dum)

Wow!! This is lovely and I really hope that Darris & Angie will share it again when the pins are inside! The frosted glass bits around the edges are such a subtle addition but really make the frame look great! You are very talented.

I can't even figure out how to get my PODMs to stay upright in a shadow box
