Whoops sorry guys referenced the wrong character, Sunfire is actually a guy, Sunpyre is his sister but I dont think she will be in the original line up. The actual Big Hero 6 character I was referring to was Honey Lemon, definitely will be interesting if we get a Disney Doll of her because she will the first Disney doll based on a Marvel created character and will also be the first doll that will have a more provocative look rather than the good girl, princess look (yes we have Sgt Calhoun in her armour but if you see the way that Honey Lemon is dressed she is definitely attired more for a mature audience).

I dunno based on the way she is dressed she could be more of an action figure rather than a doll (then again same could be said about Calhoun) but who knows she may appear in something else else other than her signature look that Disney might be able to work with to release a doll for her.

Idk much about Marvel yet besides a few old comic books my dad had from when he was younger that I wasn't allowed to touch lol but she looks cool to me and I would definitely go for her doll! I like Calhoun because she was different from the "doll" look of the 17 " dolls so this would be a nice twist but Disney may have to PG rate her at least to call her "Disney" lol.

LOL I agree, they havent released character designs but it does look like she will be in the movie, but I dont think she will look anything like she does in that image. They released a silhouette of the characters but nothing yet in terms of look so it will be interesting to see the Disney transformation of the Marvel character. The movie in itself will be very interesting because it will be the first ever Marvel/Disney Animated Studios project which will be interesting because so far we have seen a lot of movies released by the studios based on fairytales, fables or loosely based on history but this will be the first based on a comic book.

I would love a spring Maleficent, but I don't know if it's likely. They seem to like the October Villain release to go with the princess (and prince this year). Since Sleeping Beauty is slated for re-release in the fall, I would expect them to hold onto Maleficent. I would love a beautiful spring like doll of Mary Poppins in the white dress she wears on the carousel. Something like would be a lifelong favorite for me. On second thought, I wonder if they'd do two Maleficent doll in one year. They could do a more exclusive (like LE 500) in the spring and then alter her in someway for the fall. There are just so many possibilities!

Yes that is right that Maleficent would be expected to be released in May next year but at the same time the Blu Ray release for Frozen would be expected to be around then as well. I think a doll release to be more likely for the Frozen release than Maleficent. I dunno Disney can be weird, when Rapunzel was released she was released along with the Blu Ray release and not her movie release so she came out around Spring. Then again this year they released China doll based on the release of Oz in cinemas so who knows, I think it will depend if they have some CGI character in Maleficent that they could turn into a doll which I doubt.

I do agree with meawhite in that they favour the villain releases to be the surprise release for the blu ray release as has been the pattern over the past releases, Urusla, Lady Tremaine and Mother Gothel. I do hope for more dolls to be released in Spring but I don't think they will release as many as they do in fall so probably expecting 2 to be released in the first half of the year (if that) and they would probably be another rendition of the Frozen characters. The way I see it if you compare the movie releases this year with next year the Muppets movie will be released around the same time as Oz, Maleficent the same time as The Lone Ranger and Big Hero 6 around the same time as Frozen. This is another reason why I find the Frozen dolls to be more likely than a Maleficent one. But Disney does like to surprise us and last year they released a Merida doll around June whereas this year there were no June releases. I do believe it does come down to the actual movie and whether or not there is a character suitable for a doll release just like China Doll was for Oz so really it will just depend on whether or not Maleficent will have a character they can turn into a doll that is not based on a live action character. By the way the film is slated to be a dark fantasy movie so whilst it will have children in the audience I think it may be a little darker than a normal G rated movie. Sort of like Alice in Wonderland, a dark fantasy. All the dolls released so far have been based on lighter and more cheery feel good movies so having a LE doll for Maleficent may not fit their marketing and direction of the movie.

It is interesting though and I do love speculating, it just gets me thinking on probabilities and likely scenarios.

I was actually thinking about that today!! but I was also wondering, do you think they'd turn her costume more "family friendly" since it's disney? haha

Yeah I think Disney has reinterpreted the Big Hero 6 line. I think the movie is just loosely based on the comic. So the characters will have similarities but will not look exactly the same. Like you said Disney will "Disneyfy" the series especially if they are releasing it under the Disney Animated studios brand.

There was an image released with the silhouettes of the characters if I find it ill post it on here. You cannot see much in terms if character design but just from the shapes it does look like it will look something like Wreck It Ralph which will be interesting to see the new character designs.
 
I read a comment a couple of days ago, where someone had said that they have definitely seen an LE Coronation Elsa. I guess the Frozen Blu Ray doll releases are highly likely, if true.
 
Ha! The 3 good fairies as an LE release. I could see Disney doing that. It'd be basically be the same amount of material used as a normal 17" I'd bet. I really doubt they would though since they didn't make a Vanessa doll for TLM.

I'm just (positive) stressing out from the possibilities they have when it comes to making the Maleficent doll. Seriously, she could be gloriously freaking amazingly fabulous...or a horrible flop. I really hope they give her an accurate costume that is full of fabric layers, gems, her ring, and her staff! Also, I am torn between if I would want her background to be the gray bricks of her castle or green flames and thorny vines. I just hope they go all out. Basically, I want her to have the "Harrods Treatment" and that over glamorization to be the default. None of this "regular version" nonsense with her!

Can it be next year already please? ;)
 
Totally agree with the 3 Fairies being a LE release! That would be wonderful, but I really doubt they would. Still, it's a nice thought! I seriously hope they make Phillip, especially after how well they did with Eric.
 
It would be interesting to have the three fairies as a release because it would be the first three doll set, which means it will probably cost about $200-225 and well because of the fact that they are just secondary characters may mean slower sales and it is because of that that I do not see it happening.

I do however think they may put them on Aurora's box maybe around the boarder where her name appears on the bottom?

I do hope they do a Price Phillip too. I would say they would be definitely doing Aurora and Maleficent. Phillip at the moment would be a maybe but a likely release because Sleeping beauty is no where near as popular as TLM so I I wonder if this is something Disney will take into account when they consider releasing a Phillip doll. Or if they just release one of him because of Eric's popularity. Will be an interesting year for doll releases next year that is for sure! Cannot wait!
 
haha, omg I'm such an idiot lol - I'm all ready before 8am, with my card, cup of tea, baby is fed.....waiting for the dolls....then I realise that its not until wednesday lol!! OMG I think my excitement for this release is too much - I was convinced today was the day lol!! Oh well, .....I feel a little dissappointed now lol! What am I like!

I'm happy for you and the doll it self is magnificent but... don't think is a little unfair someone had her 2 days before the ufficial release date?

In italy disney store online they sell 12 elsas for error. But these 12 will be shipped after the release date, not before..

hats going on , Disney? So you can sell them on 18th, not 20th like your official site said. Obviously is Disney's fault.. and yes, for me is unfair.

Anyway.. i'm in anxiety for wednesday morning :( REALLY stressed. I just hope to have her :(
 
oh rose valentine, the elsa had been released by mistake the 11th november, by the way europe is going to have 1000 of each of doll, it was written on my shipping box, 1000 ediition size for europe , and i got the number on the box, 132 of 1000 . But inside the doll box, not the shipping box, the actual box doll it was the number 1632

another person recieved her doll last saturday. They were supposed to ship them with the rest the 20th , but they didn't do it for some. Mine had been shipped, when many who bought the 11th didn't get their shippement mail yet. Other will got them tomorrow, or on wenesday.

It's a bit like a lottery.
