Aladdin is going to be in his Prince Ali outfit. Complete with the feather.. Which means., taller box?

And jasmine in a fancier version of her green clothing. I have a feelings it'll be very very similar to the couture de force jasmine.

Personally, I don't think Aurora should be in pink, because these dolls are not meant for kids. And since aurora is arguably the most boring princess (she's still one of my favorites!) It would make sense for them to make all the pink merchandise with her. But seeing as how these dolls are meant for adults, it should blue. They don't need to convince the kids to get them... But you know Disney, they'll do anything to get more money. Unfortunately...

The LE dolls are not actually aimed at a particular target audience, yes you will find most that will buy it will be collectors (or scalpers) but there are also some that will buy it for their children. If you notice the box actually states 6+ which means that it is for children as well.

Also in my opinion I dont see how blue would be a more suitable color for adults? I know quite a few adults that love pink. I always thought that the whole blue/pink thing was just another example of wanting the other alternative because it is not available i.e wanting what we cannot have. I am sure that in some alternate universe where Aurora is marketed in blue the people there would be demanding her in pink due to reasons such as there are no other princesses in Pink (except for Mulan to a lesser extent) so for me I dont really mind what color dress she is in just as long as if Disney makes Aurora true to her character and not "Barbify" her as that would upset me more. Also we do need an Aurora with proper Aurora hair.

Personally for me I am glad she will be in Pink because it will make her stand out and I think that the pink does look good on Aurora as it does brighten her up a bit. Again this is my own personal opinion and I know some will definitely want her in blue but we already have an all blue LE doll in Cinderella so I would love Aurora in pink (which I do find more likely). I just think if you have Cinderella, Belle, Tiana, Rapunzel and possibly Aurora all lined up next to each other it would be cool to see the different colors of blue, yellow, green, purple and pink respectively.

So what LE 17" dolls will be out this year then? Wish we knew.

We have a pretty good idea based on historical releases we should expect:
Aurora for preorder in Jul/Aug
Maleficent as a "surprise release" in Oct (or possibly Sep 30 this year)
A possible Prince Phillip doll as an equivalent to the Eric doll released last year
A possible release based on Big Hero 6 (the WDAS movie to be released in Nov)

By the way anyone else suspect that we will be getting details, as in confirmed release dates of the diamond edition of Sleeping Beauty on bluray on the 11th of Feb when the Jungle Book is released? As the bluray would have to have some advertisement about the next diamond edition release wouldnt it? I do hope that it will be released Sep 30 and not Oct 7 as the sooner the better :)

Anyone getting the Jungle Book bluray that will be able to confirm the date when they receive the movie? LOL

EDIT: Just checked and it looks like it will be Oct 7 for the bluray release

AMEN TO THIS ^^^^^^^^

I would be happy either way but they got to do an LE 17" Aladdin doll, preferably in his Prince Ali outfit. & I want them to surprise me if they do Jasmine in her turquoise, purple, or red outfit :D

Can we has purple pleez? If they want it princess-like, it might as well since it's a dress and a smaller edition in the red slave garb just for kicks! If they don't do Aladdin in the Prince Ali outfit, they should do the outfit he is in at the very end. Also, they shouldn't do Jasmine's purple outfit a two piece since I went back to check and it's a dress. Movie accuracy people! All chocolate wishes aside, I think she will end up in her mint outfit nevertheless but it will be like the Disney Parks doll with the blinged out aspect. Jafar is a maybe but Jasmine is a most likely and Aladdin is mandatory as someone stated already, his name is the gosh darn title, throw the street rat a bone! (LOL)

I agree. I'm not a HUGE fan of the Demi Lovato version, and still dont understand why they did the two versions.

Not sure if anyone responded but many Disney movies have pop versions of their songs (at least from the 1990s).

Beauty & the Beast: Angela Lansbury film, Celine Dion & Peabo Bryson end/pop version;
A Whole New World: Brad Kane & Lea Salonga film, Regina Belle & Peabo Bryson pop version;
Colors of the Wind: Pocahontas forgot her singer and Vanessa Williams pop version;
Reflection: Lea Salonga film, Christina Aguilera pop version;
Tarzan: You'll be in My heart: Phil Collins did the pop version, don't remember who portrayed the female ape that sang the movie version
Lion King: Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Elton John did the pop version, don't remember the female singer that did the movie version

Anyhow, back to the original question, it's so there can be a pop version played on the radio.

Oddly, they didn't do a pop version of I See The Light, but then Mandy could have done that with another male singer too?

this!!
i dunno how possible it is for this without using a lot of gel (like the top part of elsa's hair) but i really want an aurora with her lovely stylized curls!

also, i'm kind of in favor of the briar rose outfit, it looks so pretty!

I think that a Jasmine doll in her red outfit would be amazing and completely different! Aladdin needs to be in his Prince Ali outfit, it is amazing ♥

I am also crossing my fingers that Disney gives us Aurora in her Briar Rise outfit, if they did 2 dolls for both Anna and Elsa in different outfits they can do it for Aurora. I am crossing my fingers for this :x:

I really would have wanted Jasmine to wear purple as her DFC outfit, it has been always been my favorite of Jasmine´s outfits, she wears it at the end again and that scene was rather romantic, even if it did not last for long. But it is really unlikely that the 17 inch doll will be wearing anything but mint, I think they always do the signature outfits unless there is two dolls like Rapunzel, Merida, Anna and Elsa. But I wish we would see Jasmine in purple more, I am glad that we have Rapunzel now so somebody will wear that color. And Jasmine has the best her in her red outfit in my opinion, so it would be nice so see that too more. And isn´t she the only princess ever to wear red? Esmeralda had a red dress at one point in her movie as well tough. Maybe the next princess should wear red.

Yes! Aurora needs her amazing hair! I have always thought that she has the best hair of the princesses. And even tough I wish for a 17 inch Aurora in blue (or both blue and pink) and DFC part 2 in her Briar Rose outfit, what really matters to me is that she has her beautiful hair, and face that looks like her, not what she wears. But I assume that those curls are difficult to make and require a lot of gel. And you would not be really able to see them well anyway unless she has a couple of them in her shoulders so I do not know how much effort ail be put in to them...

I agree with Polaris about the "wanting what you cannot have" notion. When I was a kid (many eons ago), I recall always seeing what limited Aurora merchandise there was in blue (that alternate universe did exist!), and currently I do prefer seeing her in pink! Pink also just works perfectly with her name, since she was named after the goddess of the dawn. But I can see the other side too, because since the creation of the Disney Princess franchise in the 1990s Aurora has pretty much been always marketed in pink, so I understand why people who have grown up seeing that all the time would want to have more merchandise with her in blue. In any case for the LE doll, assuming no other Harrods-like exclusive dolls, I do think that LE Aurora will be in pink. As Polaris mentioned, as a collective whole, she will look great in pink and stand out in a good way. I am also very nervous about how they are going to handle her hair! A bad hairdo could ruin her for me.

I am so glad that they did not make a pop version of "I See the Light." It keeps the song pure and unadulterated. For me the pop versions of the songs are never as good as the in-film character versions of the songs.

I think Disney is laughing at us arguing like the fairies over "make it pink!" and "make it blue"!

I have a theory on that. Mandy WAS the pop version so they didn't need or want to do a second version. I think they made a mistake in making Tangled's music so "pop" to begin with instead of a more traditional Disney sound. I know lots of people love her, but I would have liked someone else with a more classic sound to be Rapunzel's singing voice, and then Mandy would do a pop version much like how the great hits of the past Disney movies were done.

Yes! Aurora needs her amazing hair! I have always thought that she has the best hair of the princesses. ...

I really hope they keep her classic curls and bangs. She, in my opinion, has the best "princess" hair style: Long but not too long, curled at the ends but not super curly, and the style is vintage but not totally dated.

I agree with Polaris about the "wanting what you cannot have" notion.

Maybe it is partly that, but in her movie she only wears pink when she is dancing with Phillip at the end of the movie. So I never associated Aurora with pink at all as a child, so it is almost as confusing for me to see her in pink as it is to see Ariel in green. If she would wear pink at least slightly more in the movie it would not bother me seeing her in pink since it makes her unique. But the way it is pink Aurora does not really look like her, so I would like wish to see her blue or as Briar Rose at least once in a while.

But like I said in the earlier post I the main thing I wish that her face and hair looks great.

Although I think it would be a nice surprise to see Aurora in blue, I don't care nearly as much about what dress she's in as I do what her face and hair look like and whether they are movie accurate.

Totally this! I don't like all the generic face moulds for Aurora currently available. I've never seen a doll of her that looked even remotely movie accurate, but then it is a very stylised film and probably difficult to accomplish. And then saying that, look how perfect Mother Gothel was! Those curls and a more stylised face would be all I'd want, costume or colour doesn't bother me as long as it's not overly encrusted in gems and looks pretty.

same here.
i still haven't managed to sit through demi's version on "let it go".
i honestly don't know why disney spends money for "pop" versions of their song, i mean, do they *actually* need the extra marketing?
