Tinker Bell and Zarina arrived this morning. I expected their slipcases to be a struggle but they came off without any problem. They're also not as shiny as they look in photos. The subtle sheen looks really good, it suits them extremely well.

I got number 1!

I didn't. I got 3292. Not sure what everyone meant by the sleeve being a pain to get off. Mine slid off with ease. Examined for a minute and put it back in the shipping box to gather (pixie) dust.

Also, Oxford Street has 4 more Tinker Bells left on display. Stratford Westfield had none. Apparently they didn't receive them according to the chap I spoke to today, despite someone else (manager?) saying they would get some.

Unfortunately the Euros only get the higher numbers as they generally get the end of the stock allocation, with the exception of SQ Elsa where I think they gave the Euros the first stock due to the opening of several DS stores in the Euros? At least I think that was the case for her release.

Some closeup photos of Designer Tinker Bell.

Those are some amazing pics! thank you for sharing! I still think that her face looks a little funny :S. It sort of looks like she went to the salon and they gave her a face mask that made her face look shiny and like plastic and then decided to take a photo of her then and based the doll on that look...

It just really emphasise the fact that she is made of plastic in my opinion especially when detailed photos are taken of her. But her overall look is actually very nice, I am glad that I got her!

She's gorgeous! I haven't gotten my shipment confirmation and am starting get a little nervous! Hope she comes tomorrow!

Mine only came out today (but only that it has a labeled made) and I had my order in like ten minutes into it. Probably just taking time....

I cannot wait for mine to arrive, I love the shine to her skin, looks really magical and glowing. I usually don't like the designer dolls, the couples looked crowded and the princes made them look cheap and the original princess's look like barbie, but this Tinkerbell is the first one I think that looks as nice as the LE 17 inch dolls. The most beautiful Tinker bell I have seen.

I agree, I actually think its the nicest Tink we've seen.

DJ - thanks again for the pics. You take great pics of the dolls. You should add them all to the Wiki.

after purchasing 5 disney designer dolls (Tinker Bell, Zarina, as well as Ariel, Snow White and Bell from the fairytale collection) my bank is probabably having a laughing fit right now…. i hope they wait a bit before realising the next set of fairytale couple or start the set from frozen…kind of relieved the march realise is going to be 17" again as that gives me a bit of time to safe again…

I got shipping email yesterday (Feb 21), two days after ordering, which is usual for LE dolls. If anyone hasn't gotten an email yet, look at your order on the Disney Store site to see its status, as sometimes the email doesn't get to you even though the order has already shipped.

I agree that she looks better in person, viewed from a normal distance, than when seen really up close. She is a very beautiful doll, and I love everything about her, even her shiny skin. As people have mentioned, her shiny skin makes her seem to be glowing, and gives her an otherworldly look, which is totally appropriate for a fairy.

Amazing pictures, thanks for sharing! This one is my favourite, it looks like she is daydreaming.

Thanks all! I agree that she is by far the best looking Tinker Bell doll I've ever seen, in all aspects - her face, her hair, her dress, her shoes and her wings. I am so happy that Disney put so much effort into their first LE Tinker Bell, and gave us such an outstanding doll. The only Tink that comes close is the Disney Parks Tinker Bell, which was first released in 2011 and is still available, and is now my second favorite Tinker Bell doll.

I heard they might not make another Tink after this… not sure if that is true though...

Thanks. On the site it still says processing. I've received a doll before, and then the shipment email days later. Hoping that is the case this time. Always a little nervous that they might have over sold... :anxious:

I love the shine too! I wasn't sure about it in the photos that Disney Store posted, but DRJ1828's close up is amazing. She's glowing. Just gorgeous! Can't wait for her to arrive!!

Tinker Bell and Zarina Limited Edition Designer Dolls - Midrange Photo In Daylight

Another photo of the Tinker Bell and Zarina Designer Dolls, this time in mid-range view, taken in daylight. I think this is pretty close to how they look in person. Below the photo are my reviews of both dolls.

Tinker Bell and Zarina Limited Edition Designer Dolls - US Disney Store Purchase - First Look - Deboxed and Reposed - Case Opened - Daylight - Midrange Front View by drj1828, on Flickr

Here Designer Tinker Bell and Zarina have been completely deboxed, then placed back on their display stands, without the covers or backing cardboard. Photographed in daylight, in front of a blank background.

Review of the Designer Tinker Bell 11'' Doll

Designer Tinker Bell has the original style Designer Princess body, with a swivel waist joint and rubber legs. She also has ball jointed neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hip joints. She measures 11 1/2'' standing on her toes, the same as the Disney Designer Princess dolls, even though she is listed at 11'' H. She is quite a bit taller than other Disney Tinker Bell dolls, as the Classic Tinker Bell is 10'' tall, and the Parks Tinker Bell is 10 1/2'' tall. She has the same head and face mold as the current (2014) Classic Tinker Bell, but is painted quite differently. She has shiny pearly skin on her face (as well as the rest of her body), so she has a very different look. I would say she is more elegant and classy than the other Tinker Bell dolls, as well as more beautiful, so she would fit right in with the other Disney Designer dolls. Her face is quite a bit shinier than the rest of her body, and causes a bit of problem photographing her using flash.

Her outfit is inspired by her iconic short green dress. But it's style also borrows from a tutu, and in fact her overall appearance is as a ballerina with wings. Her fairy wings are a single piece of transparent plastic that is tinted pale green, and is iridescent. It looks like a butterfly with its wings slightly folded. It is sewn to the back of her dress, right behind a Velcro closure. She has unique green leaf and vine styled shoes, with faux pearls instead of pom-poms on top. I like the fact that there is no glitter on her outfit, instead she has golden embroidery in her bodice, and green jewels in her skirt and bodice.

Her hair is golden blonde, and styled in a tight bun, with a braid around its base. She has her iconic bangs in front, with a couple extra long side bangs, all of which are heavily gelled to keep their shape. She is wearing a green leaf hair ornament. She has short rooted eyelashes with a bit of curl to them. She has thin dark pink lips in a charming open mouthed smile. She has a tiny button nose and long pointy ears. I think she has a bit of the appearance of the original Tinker Bell character from Peter Pan, and the current Disney Fairies Tink. She is a very beautiful doll.

Review of Designer Zarina 11'' Doll

Even though she is listed as 11'' H, she actually stands 11 1/2'' high on the display stand, the same as previous Disney Designer Princess dolls. She also has the same body construction as the original Designer Princess dolls, with ball jointed neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hip joints. She has rubber legs with internal hinge knee jointed knees, and fixed angled feet. She has the same face mold as the Classic Zarina doll and has a very similar look. The biggest difference between them is the shine, pearly textured skin on her face and body. Her face is shinier than the rest of her body.

Her outfit is based on that of her movie character in The Pirate Fairy. Her navy blue coat is made to look like part of the sleeve of a British Royal Navy officer (the insignia is that of a Lieutenant). Her fairy wings are a single piece of transparent plastic that is tinted pale orange, and is iridescent. It looks like a butterfly with its wings slightly folded. It is sewn to the back of her coat. Her sword is secured to her right hand by a piece of clear plastic and a rubber band, that I left as it was done by the factory. It allows the sword to held at an angle, or straight, and hold the pose.

Her hair is similar in color and style to Classic Merida, even though the movie character has much straighter hair. It has a good bit of hair product to set the curls, which makes them stiff, but the rest of her hair (on the top of her head) is smooth and soft. She has long curvy eyelashes, with antennae-like longer lashes on the outside corners of her eyes. She has thin red lips in a smirk. She has a swashbuckling attitude, and is a very beautiful and impressive looking doll.
