2014 Designer Dolls - Fairytale Collection Part II
Wall of Designer Dolls - Fairies, Fairytale, Princess and Villains

Wall of Designer Dolls - Complete Fairies, Fairytale, Princess, Villain Designer Collection Dolls - Disney Store - Deboxed and Reboxed - In Display Cases by drj1828, on Flickr

My collection of the complete set of the Disney Store's Limited Edition Designer Dolls, from 2011 through February 2014. They are stacked up in three rows with eight doll cases in each row. I am only missing the D23 Exclusive Silver Cinderella Princess Designer Doll. I have arranged the dolls so that similar dolls from the different series are in the same column. They have all been completely deboxed, then placed back in their display cases, with the cardboard backing and all plastic packaging removed. In most cases, their poses are considerably different from their original factory poses. I have tried to make their poses more natural looking.

Just added to the top row are the Disney Fairies Designer Collection Dolls (2014), which so far consists of only Tinker Bell and Zarina (from the upcoming movie The Pirate Fairy).

The rest of the top row consists of the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Doll Sets (2013). The D23 Gold Snow White and the Prince is the last in the row (#114 of 600). The rest of the Fairytale dolls were purchased when they were released separately, two weeks apart, and have various edition numbers.

In the middle row are eight of the ten Disney Princess Designer Collection Dolls (2011). Pocahontas and Mulan of the collection are on the bottom row. They were bought separately, and have varying edition numbers. The first five dolls released in this series (Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Mulan and Snow White) where bought directly from the Disney Store. The other five dolls were purchased from resellers, after they were sold out.

Finally, the first six dolls of the bottom row are the Disney Villains Designer Collection Dolls (2012). They were purchased directly from the Disney Store when they were released separately, a week apart, and have various edition numbers.

That is an amazing photo! I wish I was able to display mine that way. I may give it a shot when I get my fairies in. When you display it that way it really is amazing how many dolls have been released. If you include the D23 Silver Cinderella it will be 25 total designer dolls to date! Which is an outstanding amount.

Thanks again for sharing your pics! They really are amazing!

Great photo! I love the way you've displayed them. I have a long way to go before I get anywhere near this but seeing your collection (and really everyone's fabulous collections) is very inspiring. I just wish I had known about these dolls a couple of years ago. I thought I'd focus only on a few dolls I liked best but now I've been bitten by the "bug" and am starting to want them all! Yikes!

So I just received an Evil Queen Designer doll from eBay today and the doll is in pretty good shape except that two of the rhinestones on the crown look like they have been re-glued as there is white glue glue/gunk on, under, above and all around the two stones, rather messy like. The rest of the stones are clean and clear. I asked the seller if they have been re-glued and she replied that the doll was never removed from the box and it came from the store like that. Personally, I kind of find that hard to believe as the inside cardboard is creased and bent in several places and very worn all along the edges. I also suspect that the photos she posted in the listing are not of the actual doll I received as there seem to be some marked differences.

Kind of getting fed up with the few experiences I've had with eBay as my SQ Elsa was missing rhinestones on her bodice, which I noticed in the first few minutes, and that seller didn't disclose that either. Funny I was just talking earlier in another thread about wanting to fix the rhinestones on my SQ Elsa but I don't plan on reselling her, and if I did, I would say that I did that upfront.

So for anyone that has this doll, do you have white glue like that around the crown? I am trying to be fair as possible to the seller and give the benefit of the doubt.

I'm not planning to open a case over this or anything, as I don't think it is really worth it. I don't want to give a negative review as I can't really know if she got it from the store like this or not. So I am trying to decide should I give her a neutral review or just not review her at all or what. Any advice?

Thanks! This isn't a permanent display because they are blocking the cabinets behind them, but they've been there for almost three months (with exception of the new additions Tinker Bell and Zarina), so they are semi-permanent. :)
Even though I'm missing just one doll, I don't have a great desire to complete it by getting Silver Cinderella, as I think she is way overpriced, even though she is very beautiful. I'm so glad I went to last year's D23 Expo and got the gold Snow White doll set.

Thank you very much. I know, its hard to be disciplined and restrict your buying to only a few dolls. There are so many beautiful dolls to covet. Now watch all your money go to Disney! LOL.

I'm sorry you've been bitten by shoddy eBay seller twice. I've been really lucky with my eBay purchases in general, but I got burned really badly a couple of years ago.

As for the Designer Evil Queen's crown, my doll has the jewels perfectly set in the crown, with no visible glue anywhere around the gems. Here's a closeup of the doll, showing the crown:

Lol I agree about the over prices D23 Cinderella. I did end up getting one but agree that whilst nice it isn't necessary to complete the collection. Glad that you were able to get the D23 Snow though as she is very pretty.

Thank you again for sharing your pictures and for taking the time to do what so many of us do not do and debox your dolls! They are always amazing to look at!

Thanks. Yeah, that's what I thought. Looking at it closer, I'm about 99% sure it was re-glued as it wasn't even straight, at a weird angle, and immersed in a blob of white. And from what I can tell Disney usually uses clear adhesive, and not the same white stuff kindergarteners use! I wouldn't even be that mad if they'd had the sense to use a clear substance! (Sigh) Another thing I'll just have to live with. I took a moistened q-tip and was able to get some of the surrounding mess off the crown. The rest of it is hardened on in a little mountain. It's not even so much the "damage" but the dishonesty that gets to me.

Thanks all! I agree that she is by far the best looking Tinker Bell doll I've ever seen, in all aspects - her face, her hair, her dress, her shoes and her wings. I am so happy that Disney put so much effort into their first LE Tinker Bell, and gave us such an outstanding doll. The only Tink that comes close is the Disney Parks Tinker Bell, which was first released in 2011 and is still available, and is now my second favorite Tinker Bell doll.
Ill have to check out the DP Tink. I havent paid attention to her while at the parks.

Wow! We Both Just Have the luck huh? Try a tooth pic or a needle and im sure you can take of the dried glue. if anything maybe you could remove the whole thing and reattach the crystal with clear glue?d t lest leave them a neutral as they need to disclose everything.

Such a nice collection, and brilliant picture of all of them. Love the D23 Snow White but she is unfortunately much to much for me to buy :(. Your collection does make a magnificent display.

Oh lovely photo! I have mine stacked as well. I've thought about deboxing to fix their poses, but I just can't bring myself to do it! I am missing 4 of the fairytale collection (I only got Rapunzel & Flynn *sniff*), but should be able to buy them on ebay soon. I do have all of the princesses and villains though. I WISH I had the Silver Cinderella and Gold Snow White! Envious of your gold Snow!

Absolutely gorgeous display and collection! I always enjoy your photos but think this is one of my favorites of yours. I also like all of the repositionings of the dolls you did, especially with the Fairytale Couples, as it really lets you see their details much better. I love that Ariel and Eric look like they're dancing too, it's too cute :wiggle:

I'm really sorry to hear that  If the seller posted pictures and didn't clarify that they weren't of the actual doll, you might be able to get a partial refund from eBay for their misleading listing. Don't lose hope in all eBay sellers, though! I've got many of the older release dolls from eBay and, knock on wood, have never had an issue, so some sellers exist out there that are still trustworthy!

Thanks! It's still bothering me but I haven't decided the best way to proceed. Don't know if I want to deal with the stress of opening up a case and fighting with the seller.

I sent a message to the seller and she replied that's the way the doll was when she got her, but to me that doesn't excuse anything as she told me before the purchase that the doll was in excellent condition. (I'd sent an inquiry asking about the condition of the doll beforehand because of my previous experience.)

I don't think the doll is the same one in the picture, as the hair on the doll I have is lopsided and the one in the photo has a straight bun. My doll also arrived with some black marks/streaks on her face which were not in the picture. I saw looking into her history she sold another doll using the same images. I feel that if you put several detailed photos and not a stock photo on a doll listing you are suggesting that it is of the actual doll, but maybe I'm wrong...

After two bad eBay experiences in a row I'm thinking right now that I will probably only focus on new dolls going forward. As much as I want some of the older dolls, I don't want to go through this again. I was looking forward to getting the doll and now I just feel really disappointed.

After I saw your post I wondered about mine too because I didn't actually look at it with that much detail as some other people may have and I noticed that mine has the glue on there too. Just so you know I bought mine directly from the Disney Store. So I would say that the seller is probably valid in that they got it like that. The tricky thing is a person that is selling an item could just take photos of their item and then post it, however if they don't have a keen eye for detail then they may not pick things like this up or what might bother one person may not bother another (not enough for them to raise it as a flaw at least).

I am sorry about what happened to you in your situation but don't forget that a lot of times these dolls can suffer from a bit of quality control, there were a lot of Cruella's that had exorcist heads and Maleficent's that had messed up horns with hairs sticking out everywhere. Ill post photos of mine so you can see that i have the same issue as your described.

Not saying that all flaws can are the fault of Disney Store but hopefully this will help you determine your course of action on the matter.

Here is the picture. Sorry it is not the best quality as I just took it with my phone but you can see the glue on the crown.

My tracking for Tink says its scheduled for delivery tomorrow (the 25th) but the actual destination tracking/scans shows it hasnt left yet. I think this has happened one before where it never actually updated the tracking. Anyone else have this happen?

I agree with Polaris that this is most likely a Disney factory problem and not the seller. I have some dolls with visible glue residue on their jewelry with gemstones (I think my Designer Aurora and Designer Jasmine dolls). Some factory workers seem to be sloppier than others. Also the cardboard issue... I have many dolls that were received with the cardboard with visible creases as if the person sliding it into the side slots on the plastic case was just forcing it in (which is not the best method to do it), causing the cardboard to be damaged. In this particular case, I would just not leave feedback at all for the seller, because the origin of the issues is questionable. I don't think that most sellers would actually bother to try to fix missing gems, to be honest.

For Snow Queen LE Elsa, do keep in mind that her clear white rectangular and round rhinestones are not all uniform after a certain point. I'm not sure what your doll's dress look like, but for a comparison, this is what my doll (and it seems everyone else's) looks like. I also thought that my doll was messed up at first when I saw that random round gem that breaks up the rectangular gem rows on the lower right-hand side closer to the waistline, but apparently that is how these were designed. However, if you are missing anything outside of this asymmetrical pattern or any of the round blue gems on her dress, then some fix-it repairs may be in order. My Coronation LE Anna had a missing pink gem on her bodice when I received her, but luckily those gems were an exact match to the dark pink iron-on gems that I used for my OOAK Designer Aurora (same size, too!), so I was able to fix that. But that was a total factory fail. :(
