Does anyone know if Disney will announce the winning bid amounts for the silent auctions at Sci-Fi Academy? Or have they in past events? I can't seem to find any info on that.

Thanks in advance! :)

Winners of the silent auctions will be announced at 4pm that day as per the itinerary posted on ODPT.com

I"ve bid and lost and never been told what the winning bid was. Now if I"m in a bid war I ask the others what they bid after we turn our bids in. I"ve only been involved in auctions at WDW. We are comming to Sci-Fi and would love to know what everyone is biddig on.

For silent auctions at every pin event I've gone to, Disney only has announced who the winning bidders were, not what the winning bids were. If you want to find out the winning bids, as was posted above, you have to be a bit nosy and do some investigating. The only auctions I've been to where Disney discloses the winning bid are the live auctions (and that's kind of a given) ... but Disney doesn't disclose who wins those auctions (the auctioneer just writes down the paddle number of the winner and if you want to know who won each of the lots, you'll have to do some investigating unless you're lucky enough to be near the person/people who won).

Thanks for the info, everyone.

Since it doesn't seem like it'll work out, I'll let you know why I asked. Stuart (DISNEYPINS99) suggested a great idea for our next giveaway: have DPF members guess the price at which the Sci-Fi Academy Alice in Wonderland auction lot (seemingly the lot which will sell for the most) will end. Whoever was closest without going over would win the prize.

Sorry, Stuart. It doesn't look like we'll be able to use the idea this time, buuut maybe if there's a live auction at the D23 Expo this year? :D

You can still try to make the idea work. Just have someone right near the auction pad and just watch what the final bid will be. Granted there might be tons of people circling the pad waiting to make a final bid, but it can still work. Also it may not hurt to see who wins the auction lot and just ask what they bid. I know some people will refuse to say what they bid but it doesn't hurt to ask :)
