Fairytale designer couples set : Individual Price Guessing Game!

EDIT*****

Ive gotten a lot of messages telling me it might be better waiting and just buying the aurora one separate to save money, my question to you all is

How much do you think people will sell all 5 couples individually?

*****OP

I'm thinking about buying this set but I only want aurora and Philip from it. More than likely I'll be using the remaining 4 to build up my collection again! However, would there be any interest in buying any couple apart from aurora, or even the box?

Pm's welcome if interested

I would be interested in Mulan from this set :) Feel free to PM me, really depends on the price. I can't justify buying this whole set haha, as I would really like to get the Mulan doll!

depends if it's hyped up cost or post-hype.

This is what I've posted on FB:

If we all calm down we should remember that these five princesses are not the desirable ones (sorry mulan). Last years set sells for $800-900 post hype. This set should sell for half that amount, post hype.

Right now when people are panicking, prices go up. But when hype dies down and people are onto the next big thing....

But to answer your original question, I expect Aurora/Phillip to go for between $80-125 post-hype (individuals seem to go for more than the whole set, maybe cuz people can afford certain individual pins and not the whole set?)

I agree, with everybody freaking out right now, the price is going to be more expensive then the actual value of what it will be a few months after they are released.

Obviously you are far more experienced with pins, but are you sure about the value of Phillip and Aurora. I really want the Aladdin for last year's set I found $125 is a common price for the Jasmine&Aladdin (the same for Snow White) . And I think there are a lot more Sleeping Beauty collectors then Aladdin collectors. So my feeling would say more like $125-$160 for the Aurora couple pin (she has a higher edition size, so not as expensive as Belle/Ariel).

I think Mulan would be as popular is Aladdin, so value wise a $100-$130 (higher edition size but probably slightly more popular).

The others, Carming&Cinderella, John&Pocahontas, and Naveen&Tiana, would be some lower. higher edition size compared with last year, and they aren't that popular. I feel they could be like $75-$110

Listed:
Aurora $150
Cinderella $90
Mulan $120
Pocahontas $90
Tiana $90

Last years Jasmin/Aladdin is an LE 250 and this years Phillip and Aurora is LE 350 which is a big difference in how many will be available on the secondary market - The prices should be lower even though Aurora may be slightly more popular than Jasmine.

There are many examples of pins that have higher LE sizes (or even OE) that are super popular. It just depends on how many people like it. It's hard to predict. After all, designer pins are popular. And personally, I think this second set looks much better than the first set. I especially love Cinderella, her dress is amazing.

Even if they are just hyped, just trade while it's hyped up and built your collection. If you buy the set, trade them off immediately. In fact, if you can set up possible trades and it's worth it for you in the long run, get the set. If not, then wait till the hype dies down. I noticed that most people, now, don't trade internationally though, so you have to make sure they're accounted for somehow (sold or traded off).

Yes, I'm pretty sure about the prices once the hype dies down.

This year's set has the princesses that are not very popular at all (good for me for Mulan!) Last year's set had 3 of the most popular princesses.

The LE size will make a difference, plus the fact that this will be in Europe & US (last year's set, all 250 were sold in the US, 200 at D23 convention, 50 on DS.com).

When you get down to the nitty gritty, people will eventually undercut each other when trying to sell. It may start out high, but as I said post-hype, the set won't go for the same price that last year's set goes for ($800-900 right now, it was $1200-1500 at its hype.)

Hi everyone, just got a set (fingers crossed for no cancellations!) I'm looking to sell Tiana, Pocahontas and Mulan. Seen prices on the bay reach something crazy, just wondering what people would say is a fair price for them. Obviously looking to profit on these three so please no harassing messages about selling them at cost :nono:

Any PM'd offers welcome

I merged your two threads about this due to the similarity. However, if you are selling pins, that needs to be in the sales forums, and not Pin Discussion. You can ask pricing suggestions, but not solicit sales

Thanks
Bill

I think you will find more people willing to pay lots of money on ebay than here. The prices on ebay are crazy, FB prices are mid-level.

You have to remember that if you sell here, you are not paying ebay fees so you can't expect ebay prices. People are going to expect 10-20% off ebay prices because they are giving up the ebay buyer protection.

I agree that you should wait. Unless the pin is a very low LE and you fear no more being available, all prices on pins drop after hype. How much can't be seen, but they always drop prices. Aurora and Phillip will no doubt be the highest point of this set always, but they'll definitely drop from where they are now. The LE size is too high for them all to go into collections and never be seen again (like the original Designer Princesses, hence why they only went up in price, because so few are available for trade/sale).
