DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
Soooo looking at the stock pictures on the UK site, like lordofanime I can't help but notice some substantial differences between the boxed pictures of the dolls and the unboxed pictures. This is perplexing because I don't think I've ever seen Disney use alternate prototype dolls for their stock photos before?
Phillip is the same (for better or worse depending on your personal opinion).
In-box Maleficent has a black neck to match her cowl (but still has a bare chest) and has large red panels on her skirt (which could have been covered by her sleeves in the unboxed picture, but they certainly weren't that close to the middle accent panel). From what I can see in those in-store photos, the in-box version is the one we're actually getting.
In-box blue Aurora is perhaps the most distressing. She has lost all the excess jewels on her skirt, bodice, and sleeves (again, for better or worse depending on who you ask). The panels on her skirt are as wide as the pink version, not velvety looking, and the rose embroidery is not filled in. She is literally a carbon copy of the pink version, but in blue. Alas, I can't quite tell which one it is in the in-store photos. But given Maleficent, I'm not holding out hope for the unboxed version
Ugh, why Disney? On top of everything else, why did you take the trouble to take so many stock photos of dolls you aren't selling?

Pound is worth more? That's my first guess perhapsJust out of curiosity, how come in the UK the Limited Edition Sleeping Beauty Dolls are cheaper?

I only just noticed the blue Aurora being the same as the pink. hope it's only the online photo that looks like that, wanted the blue since she was a different design to the pink which I liked less.
I've seen some in store photos and it looks like we're getting the less detailed one. I'm so annoyed, I only bought both pink and blue because I thought there were bigger differences.
