Yes, you need to be a VIP member to order the pins. After you are a member if you also buy a movie at regular price you can get a pin for free. To become VIP member you need to buy a certain number of movies at regular price (# depends on promo code you use to start. Some only require 3) After that you can order the pins. I joined when they released Olaf and it took me two-three weeks to get my VIP status, and even then I had to call and say I already purchased the movies can I order the pin.
 
Thanks, so it sounds like it's unlikely I would become a VIP member in time to get the Elsa pin before it sells out. eBay it is. Is there a way to see what pins are available to VIP members? I wouldn't be a member for the movies, but if the pins are worth it, I'd consider it.

I believe you can buy the movies instantly and become VIP the day your join. Call the 800 # I ave you in my previous post. I remember someone on these forums doing this when the Maleficent VIP pin came out.

I joined through the website, and it took forever it seemed for the status to be updated. I would suggest trying the 800 number as well and explain what you want to do and see if you can do it same day - some operators are more helpful than others. If they say you can't do it, call again and ask someone else.

The commitment is 5 regular price movies. That's $100 at the cheapest, since you have to buy them at $20 or more. I can't afford to do that all upfront. Probably cheaper to just buy on eBay to get the one pin I want.
