Interesting but the details of Aerial & Ursla tell me that its more like a fan made set. But the Elsa & Hans looks really detailed.

Does anyone think one of the princesses who has gotten a doll in the past won't get a set this time, assuming that Elsa and Hans will have a non D23 version?

I really want to love that ariel but I cannot stand the nude colored tank top. I wish it was just a seashell bra... I've been trying to save for the 17 inch, so to just get this one would be so much better for me. Maybe I'll learn to love it.

the elsa I can pass on not only because it will probably be ridiculous to purchase for me, but because I already have the coronation elsa.



Im really really hoping for alice, megara, esmerelda, rapunzel, Aurora, Tiana, or Cinderella.
if any of those were made even if just one I'll be happy, inthink rapunzel will be very likely since she was also in the funko series...
 
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that Ursula and Elsa looked like small versions of their 17 inch doll - mainly ursula since that was a new design for her. I'm very curious to see who else will be revealed, and if there will be a second series next year.
 
I would love to see a Tiana vs. Dr. Facilier with Tiana wearing the outfit she has on when Facilier is trying to get her take his bargain at the end of the film. That would be a stunning set if done right. Also a Jasmine vs. Jafar set with Jas in her red slave outfit. An Alice vs. The Queen of Hearts set would be gorgeous with the color contrast between the two. I doubt there would be Pocahontas vs. Ratcliffe and Mulan vs. Shan Yu. Not sure about Cinderella vs. Lady Tremaine although Tremaine did get her own LE doll so it is possible.

It would never happen but I would love an Esmeralda vs. Frollo set. And Hercules/Megara vs. Hades.

Doesn't it though? Because you can see that they didn't say "Designer Hereros VS villains" set. It says "Designer Fairytale set"
 
Which makes even LESS sense. The Fairytale sets, previously, were couples. These new ones are still being called fairytale sets but the description mentions the struggle between good and evil and that it brings together "legendary heroes and villains" and that description is generic enough to be used for all the sets, even if the male/male set of Peter Pan and Hook turns out to be true.

But it wouldn't fit Anna and Kristoff at all. I suppose this year's sets could just be a random throw together of another couple (expanding on the past two years) and villains with the more popular princesses (Snow White and HAG though? Ugh) because it'll sell. Would have greatly preferred OTHER Disney couples that aren't part of the princess line up but I know we'll never get dolls of them. Sigh.
 
Attending d23 expo for the first time this year and I'm overly excited already! Have some questions for fellow collectors who has been to the expo in the past (apologies if another thread exists for this):

- I'm reading there are 3 different stores (disney store, dream store and imagineer glendale?) if I'm looking for limited edition dolls and d23 exclusive items which store should I be going to?
- how early do people usually line up? I'm reading somewhere they don't let you queue up until 5am or sth but do people queue up elsewhere prior?
- does being a d23 gold member/entering an hour early make a huge difference? I know the sorcerror package gets the most dibs but wondering if it's worth $80 for the gold membership?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
 
People keep saying the coronation elsa is the exclusive and winter Elsa will be the regular release, but I cant see them doing a whole new outfit. I bet the regular one is the same minus the assesories in Elsa's hands lol hope I'm wrong though!

I was thinking the Elsa and Hans set is the D23 exclusive. Elsa is a popular character as is and Hans rarely gets any merchandise. Although having snow queen Elsa as the original sounds plausible, I also doubt it.
 
I can't see them not releasing Elsa and making her a exclusive they never did that with cinderella and snow they just released the same doll in a different coloured dress! I think these are much better value for money than the prince and princess sets. Ariel's tail is the best yet!
 
This has to be the laziest set ever.

Most likely there will be an Evil Queen/Snow White, Rapunzel/Gothel, and any amount of speculation for the last two if this is a 6 doll set. It will probably only be really popular characters :/
 
Im looking forward to the rapunzel mother/gothal combo, i wonder which outfit rapunzel will have on, i would love it if its the same as the 17inch or the fairytale couple outfit from a few years ago as i love both and have missed out on them. Would also love a peter pan set but i think we will get belle/gaston, snow/evil queen and possibly jasmine and jafar
does anyone know the UK price of the sets and do you think they will make each princess really detailed and the villan less s

My best guess is that the wide release Elsa/Hans set will be missing the scepter and orb (note that they're not in the box art, while Ariel's little rock-chair thing is) and maybe some details.

Also, I read on facebook that lines for the d23 store are 9-12 hours long and you're not allowed to leave, even for a bathroom break. Yikes. D:
 
I would love a Peter Pan or Alice in Wonderland set, but I just don't see that happening. Disney will probably stick to the same Fairytale Collection characters they keep doing. However, personally, I will be glad if we get a Belle/Gaston and Snow White/Evil Queen combo. SW and Belle are my favorite characters and I don't have any dolls of them.
