So I was thinking about trying to go and get the last Countdown Series pin at DLR on Thursday. I haven't been to any of the previous releases (I just started collecting a couple months ago) but I wanted to try and get this one kind of as a birthday present to myself (which coincidentally is the day of the release). I've heard how crazy it was at the past releases so I have a couple questions if anyone can help me out!
How early do you think I'd have to get there? I'm assuming pretty early like around midnight or 1 am?
I don't have anyone to drop me off so is there any place I can park that late at night? You can't park overnight in any of the Disney lots, right?
Lastly if I don't end up getting a wristband do they have like a standby line at any of the stores if for some crazy reason there are a few leftovers at 1pm? Thanks for the help!

I went last month and did manage to get a pin. It seems that people get there earlier and earlier every month. I got in line around 12:20 last month. I would say you should be there by midnight if not earlier. As far as parking, I wish someone would post where they park. Last month I was dropped off. This month we have to park. When I got there last month the Downtown Disney lot was open and pretty full, and it remained that way all night and into the next morning, so I have to guess that some of those in line are parking in there. Now I know we aren't supposed to, but......Hopefully someone will help us with the parking question.

If you can go into the park to purchase the pin that will help. Last month and again this month a lot of the passes are blocked which makes for a lot of competition to get the DTD wristbands. There are standby lines at the stores should not all of the pins sell out. This pin release was originally listed as LE 5,000 which would make it slightly easier to get. When the flyers came out it was listed at 3,000. I hope the 5,000 is correct.

Edition size has been updated on the flyer to LE5000, so everyone should have better chances of getting a wristband.

As to the parking situation, it's always been a dilemma. Last month we got lucky and got to park at Mickey structure due to grad nite, not sure how it will work for this month. I'm guessing if you arrive before DTD parking closes you can park there, but once it's closed, access might not be till 3 or 4am...there's nothing officially advised by Disney though.

Hope this info help. Good luck everyone

Curious to know what time the last of the 2,500 vouchers was handed out.......Article on-line for OC Register said first people in line Wed early AM, and 2,000 people in line by Wed Night.

I don't know when the last person got in line but I was in line a little after midnight and got a wristband. It was hard to tell exactly how many but there was a good amount of people there already.

Also thanks again for the help! I was able to get the pins I wanted. :)

Glad it helped and you were able to get the pins!I

Got there at 9:30 pm, and when we got our wristbands, at 7:15, the cm mentioned they were still handing out vouchers : p

They were handing out wristbands outside Katz & Sons until 11am this morning, 7/16. My brother walked up and got one at 10:45am. We had our pins by noon. :)

When my daughter, who was working, found out that they had already moved the line onto Disney property Wednesday afternoon, she sent me, my son, and DIL out into rush hour traffic. Two hours later, when we finally got to DLR at 7pm, we were in the second line of the second group. We didn't get our cards until about 9 pm or so, so my daughter was able to join us. People trickled in all night and yes they were still handing out cards during the wristband distribution. We had to wait in another 2 hour line at Little Green Men but were able to get everything we wanted. On a side note, Little Green Men still had all of the Diamond Decades pins from last week, and as of last night they had the full series available. The Limited Release 60th Logo pin was pretty much everywhere in the park, and the Jumbo pins, which IMHO were overpriced and we didn't pick up, were in good supply. The Diamond Countdown pins did sell out, but the higher edition size definitely made them easier for more people to get.
